Fun fact: The Jim Carrey Grinch got nominated for 3 Oscars. It won Makeup and Hairstyling and got nominated for Production Design and Costume Design.

I kind of hoped 3D animated Grinch would fall in love with Cindy Lou’s mother and become her stepdad

wanna know something horrible? The grinch gets all the whoville trash and most come right after christmas. He hasnt been down since childhood soooo... where did maxx come from? Thats right. someone got a puppy for christmas, got bored of it, and threw it away

Honestly, the illumination one lost the plot of the original completely. The 2000s one gave the original plot more meaning but still had so many call backs to the 1966 animation.

Jim Carrey actually did sing the ''You're a mean one Mr Grinch'' in the live action movie, its amazing. The Grinch with Jim Carrey will ALWAYS be my favourite because of how hilarious it is, and I'm a huge Jim Carrey fan xD

100%, the Jim Carrey version is my absolute favorite. Also, Martha is a Christmas baddie we all need. Also, Cindy Loo isn't an annoying child in that one, and the Grinch has an actual solid backstory. Also , you're a mean one song still slaps.

17:07 fun fact: this scene was actually a blooper they kept in the movie. Jim Carrey was supposed to knock everything over as he pulled the table cover away, but he somehow managed to keep everything in its place, so he ran back and threw everything off.
(Sorry for the terrible explanation. My grammar today sucks.)

"Do you think he shaves his ass?" Was a line I was not expecting to hear in this video lmfao

Fun fact: the little girl who played live action Cindy Lou is now the lead singer for the rock band "The Pretty Reckless." I haven't seen this movie in many years so hearing her sweet baby voice compared to now was slightly jarring lol. I mean, obviously she'd sound different as an adult than she did as a child but still

8:56 I watched an interview with Jim Carrey a couple years ago where he talked about that makeup. He said it was like being buried alive every day, they brought on an actual torture expert to coach him through it. He chain smoked almost constantly during the filming and would punch himself in the leg when he was getting overwhelmed. I’ve loved this movie since I was a kid and now it’s kinda hard to watch knowing all he went through to portray this character.

The animated Grinch comes off as Dr. Doofinshmirtz’s estranged cousin more than the Grinch

Jim Carrey’s Grinch will never be topped

I will always love the joke that one guy grabs his stork baby and asks “why does it look like my boss?”

Jump scare beginning is wild

16:09 I'm sorry to say he did NOT have a ball while making this film, the makeup application process was compared to torture.

@fightingfaerie 1 year ago

50:09 I have to agree… As stupid as the horror version seems to be, at least they got the right narrator voice. After seeing the first two in a row I realized how off Pharrell as narrator sounds. He sounds way too young and peppy/preppy.

Benedict Cumberbatch even voice acted Smaug in The Hobbit, using a deeper voice that could've suited the role as the Grinch as well, instead of him being so squeaky
