Judging by the cost of getting Veneers there from what I've read/seen.. you could probably get the teeth pulled, get implants and still only pay a few hundred dollars. People get a full set of veneers and pay a few thousand. If I lived in southern Cali I'd only go to Mexico for dental work, especially if it was just a drive away.

My dentist in Ciudad Acuña charges about $80 for an extraction. You could get a root canal for $150 and a crown for anywhere from $150 for a ceramic one to $500 for a zirconium crown, with a 2-3 day turnaround.

Las Flores, Mexico across from Progresso, Texas is very safe to walk across during the day and come back.  Many of people cross.  The town sits between 2 cartels and they don't mess with anyone in the town as long as you stay on the Main Street.
