Fun fact: The guy who voiced Griffon in DMC1 was an out of work opera singer who was embarrassed to take a voice acting role for a video game. He auditioned for the job because he needed the money, and only agreed to do it if he remained uncredited. I know that's not related to DMC2, but it's a fascinating piece of Devil May Cry history.

The best part about DMC2 is that it makes DMC3 one of the best comeback stories of all time

“Lucia can swim”
This was definitely a tomb raider rework

Fun fact, infested tank file description states: A tank possessed by an Infestant. The body coated by the demon armor is invulnerable to any attack
And then game guide says: Thankfully, their enemy file is incorrect and their armor is not invulnerable

We may never know the name of the original DMC2 director but we now know the name of the magazine he wrote the reviews for.

Good to know that the best devil may cry game in 2003 was in fact Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne: Featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry Series

I cannot believe someone is bothering. I'm not gonna defend this game but as someone who thoroughly beat almost every mode in a single night as a young lad, and then proceeded to hear people who never touched the game bash it to hell for the next 2 decades, I appreciate you coming along to actually play and analyse it, I'm sure it wasn't very engaging though so sorry about that 😂

There is a Trish mode you can unlock, even with a cheat. She has Dante´s DMC 1 moveset, making her the best-playing character.

If DMC2 came out today, there would’ve been a million videos titled things like “Devil May Cry 2 is a broken mess” or “DMC 2 is a disappointing disaster” and Capcom would’ve been shut down because it didn’t make enough money.

You know what's funny about the "Here's your crown" line?
Somehow it doesn't feel like something Dante would say.
It fits Leon though

I like how Dante's personality is such a 180 from DMC1 that the game publishers made DMC3 a prequel to explain why.

The funny thing is the whole meme of "Featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series" is this Dante. They used this Dante in Lucifer's Call/Nocturne where the meme spawned from, right down to his outfit and looks to his coin flipping antics and if you have the knowledge that both sides of his coin are heads, you can easily win the coin toss to recruit him at a discount price by betting on heads.

I remember when this game came out, 1 month later at my GameStop they had rows of used copies for less than $20.

that helicopter and building boss fights are certified "behold, combat !" moments

Devil May Cry 2, ironically, got two things right. The gun combat was the base for Gunslinger and it was the start of bloody palace.

Waiting through that countdown for a "No" was hilarious. Lmao😂

I've never heard Uroboros pronounced that way in my life.

for what its worth, DMC2 gave a lot a concepts that stuck with the series. Rebellion, wall running, rain storm,, and bloody palace. DMC2 having customizable DT and the "Majin" DT are cool concepts that should've stuck around imo

but the fact we got DMC3 is a miracle

A Fun fact about the quick heart is that it's entirely skippable. Rolling is faster than running and you can roll in a certain way to pass the lowering bridge without collecting the quick heart at all.
I found this out when revisiting the area later into the game and finding the quick heart then. This also means the quick heart is never needed again.

This game is genius. Dante is SO Powerful at this point in his career, that nothing poses a challenge to him. Capcom made a power fantasy, putting the player in Dante's Diesel Jeans.
