CNN was dead wrong for telling that boy during an interview that another one of his friends died. Like wtf. They were literally hunting for a viral moment

Memeifying black pain, memeifying genocide, memeifying pedophilia. The internet turning everything that is serious into a joke isn't an accident. It's a concerted effort to make sure the broader public does not stay angry, organise and take action against the oppressors.

I know I’m going to be called “woke” for saying this but this is why black pain is never taken seriously because it’s constantly being mocked and turned into “comedy.” 😕

I hate that so many of these are Black boys and men crying. They are already often discouraged from showing sadness. I'm sure ppl turning these moments into memes just makes it harder to foster spaces for them to feel safe expressing vulnerability

My Shayla was genuinely insane cuz that guy was hurtingggg

Now looking back and learning the back stories , a lot of these are actually not funny at all. 😢

Lil’ Mama never deserved that amount of hate. It wasn’t that deep. All those adults black balling a child…a child…

Unfortunately, ppl finding black pain funny is a trend that won't go away

Edit: yall can stop telling me that us black folks do this too, we were never excluded from my previous statement

"Since you got your degree and you know every f*cking thing" from precious. It BAFFLES me that anything from this movie became a meme

We need to gatekeep more, especially online. Digital minstrelsy and digital blackface are so prevalent and gross

Black people laugh at our own pain because we laugh to stop the tears a lot …  But because we make everything cool  others think it’s a free for all.

The school shooting story being taken out of context and turned into a meme is saddening you can obviously tell he was overcome with emotions from what his son said. Really wish this wasn’t a meme

obviously against animal cruelty, shouldn't have to clarify that, but it annoys me how some people only care when an animal is involved.

I still don’t like how Charlemagne treated Lil Mama, like I understand what she did was stupid, but to talk over her when she’s explaining the shit she was going thru when she was 17 and having a dying mom, and all Charlemagne can do is laugh, just shows the type of loser he is. I’m glad he’s getting heckled on more by other ppl, especially with the folks he chooses to be around now as a what? 50? 60 year old man

That Kelly Rowland song going viral actually helped me realize that it is true that our generation can be annoyingly out of touch and that older people aren't always exaggerating about that. Sometimes they're right. Because WHY... everyone can clearly hear the lyrics

My biggest fear is becoming a meme and I'm not irrational for thinking that way

The fact that they're so concerned about a damn dog but when Black children/women go missing it's crickets. 😒

Years back, people were mocking the idea of "Digital Blackface" referring to the over use of black faces in gifs. Minstrelsy has never gone away, it just evolved with our media.

Any meme making light of Tina Turner's abuse tbh. I hate when people act like the movie What's Love Got to Do With It is funny, especially men bc they're laughing at a woman get beat up and raped for 2h and she was a real person too.
