PAIR OF KINGS RETROSPECTIVE: Up early on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/posts/pair-of...

I’m back! Remember me? Sorry for the long hiatus, I’ve accidentally been away contributing to society for a few months. Don’t worry, it won’t happen again! Sorry for the still images, I had to do those to sneakily weasel my way around the auto-copyright ID which has apparently been choosing violence in the year 2025.

I think Justin keeps his powers because of a weird grey area. He didn't get them from the competition; Professor Crums gave them to him.

I wish Justin’s son would’ve been the Alex copycat, would’ve been a cool iteration of the “my offspring is nothing like me!” Trope, as well as some gender bending of the Alex-Justin archetype they wanted to keep.

Easy fix to the weird wand problem. Have Billie be just unable to do wandless magic. Justin trying to teach her wandless magic could easily be used for hijinks by having her botch spell attempts. Having her be so talented with a wand but struggle with wandless magic could also bring another dimension to the character. Gifted kid sucks at this one important thing and has to work extra hard

honestly grandmas being great to their grandkids and not to their actual kids is a weirdly common thing so i can see some of theresas changes being okay

Regarding Max living on a Yacht: theres no chance he actually works in the sub station anymore, he’s 100% a bussiness man who doesn’t do hard labour now. So he wouldn’t need to commute to the sub station, he probably has a full staff under him and never has to leave his yacht to any work.

The tribune taking Giada’s words over the mistreated cyclop’s makes sense when you remember that the wizard society is incredibly racist in the original show as well

@budb959 1 year ago

The fact that Justin is being interviewed for the tribunal and Alex is nowhere to be found is kinda hysterical to me, like obviously Selena is busy but still

@growingupwithdisney 1 year ago

They can turn Max into a recurring character by making one of his MANY sub stations be the third place for the show. Home, school, and the occasional wizard world ain’t enough

0:17 “You’re gonna see a lot. She’s in multiple episodes. I don’t why people keep saying she’s in one episode.” then the cut to screen that shows Selena/Alex in only the first and last episode made me giggle 😅

Maybe thats why Wiztech was created. For those whose powers skipped a generation and can't teach their kids (Or those who aren't meant for teaching)

i think a lot of the problems could've been fixed (while still keeping the same dynamic as the original) if they had just made minor changes in the dynamic. like making one of the brothers a girl, or swapping it so the younger one was the nerd. also i think they should've made Giatta a secret wizard who lost her tournament to explain why justin didnt lose his magic and why she wasn't freaked, and could've been a super interesting dynamic

@Straitlace 1 year ago

I am sticking to the headcanon that the reason there are 5 women that look like Selena Gomez in that connected universe is due to some spell Alex cast that copied herself and she just never fixed it.

Evilini was in TWO EPISODES?? For some reason my child brain decided to not forget her and she felt like a much more prominent side character/antagonist

@rue...whenwasthis 1 year ago

i think max having a franchise of subway shops HAS to mean he's the owner of Subway

@rue...whenwasthis 1 year ago

well Justin DID lose his magic, but then had it restored by professor Crumbs so he could be a teacher, so that's why he still has them

@TrulyLilith 1 year ago

Max is a billionaire, he doesn't work at the sandwich shop, he OWNS sandwich shops. When you're that rich you don't work, you just make other people work and exploit their labor.

Dude, even Jerry would've immediately understood what was happening if his kids did the body control thing to him.

@Booftopia 1 year ago

To me it feels like David Henrie reliving his late teen years (when he was in the OG) making alot of decisions regarding the story that don’t really make sense but benefit Justin’s character/storyline which really tracks with what Jennifer Stone was “shading” him for on the Wizards pod

@knjgoldencomics 1 year ago

I would love to see an episode in which Justin, now having to train Milo, Roman, and Billie, struggles or is too "old-fashioned" using WizTech lessons, so he needs to call Jerry for help. When Jerry arrives, he's able to teach the three kids more than Justin had in a week, making Justin feel insecure and jealous. Then Jerry is able to feel "useful" again but also teaches Justin that similar to how Justin, Max, and Alex were taught it's not always about textbooks but hands on learning and curating it to how the three kids learn.
