The movie ends with FBI indeed busting Jordan and putting him behind bars. But the next scene showed exactly what Jordan predicted in this scene. That FBI agent won but there was no one to celebrate his win. He thought he will be a hero in FBI. However he was shown riding in that same old subway all alone and gloomy. In his mind he was likely wondering what if he took the offer that Jordan gave.
On the other hand Jordan was seeing having a fun time in jail playing tennis and getting out within 2 years. He was then shown to be travelling all over the world giving lectures to audiences who are shown mesmerised and in fact honored to eagerly listen to Jordan’s ‘words of wisdom’.
That ironic ending was the crux of the movie. Jordan with all his excesses, crimes, greed, frauds and debauchery was far better off than an upright FBI officer who was just a normal person doing his job in an honest manner. Martin Scorsese showed that our society is doomed as it celebrates and rewards con men like Jordan far more than normal people who are the real heroes who should rather be applauded. WOWS is one of the best and most entertaining movies that you can ever watch. It is a sarcastic jab on our justice system and morality.
