Use it to make boss rushes a breeze or make unique builds in Elden Ring or simply use the flying tool to get to never-before-seen areas!

im still waiting for the missing treasure items from s11. You can see them in the pirate log for reapers loot sold for some reason and they've been MIA for nearly 10 season now. They added one of them on accident to the custom seas spawn table in Insider but it was removed the next build.

I have always hated Rare's approach to features being outright purged/removed instead of them actually putting in time to correctly optimize them. Arena, Tall Tales, Adventures, the list goes on and on. Diving is great on paper, all they really needed to change was making it limited to once per session, or sacrificing your emissary levels each time etc. Instead they are outright deleting a cool feature because they refuse to optimize their fucking game. How sad.

I made so many posts in the forums against diving when they announced it.
It was dumb back then
Its dumb now.

The only thing they had to do to fix server hopping was REMOVE IT. This is the change they had to do: If you disconnect from a server, it will hold 1 spot for your crew in that server for 10 minutes, and then release it. If you reconnect any time during those 10 minutes, you will be reconnected to the same server.

If they wanted to allow hopping to avoid griefers however, they could activate this only after you hop once. You can hop once for free without this cap.

But of course they were trying to cater to streamers.

Another way to streamline the experience would have been to automatically fully stock your ship with everything from the current island when you spawn. The game always started with 10 minutes of gathering stuff. Yeah buying cannonballs and wood helped when they added it, but those had no chainshots and other cool things you could randomly find in the island.

I miss the scale of the old voyages. Getting a big bundle of maps and riddles for random treasure. Now it's just digging up the exact same treasure on the exact same island. Could definitely benefit from some customizability in the length of the voyage.

over-using diving is to me a response of season 8 (alongside super mean RNG for world events when hunting for commendations)
since hourglass have been added, the seas are way more hostile, no more ambiguity about other ship's intensions, it's most of the time to sink you without even trying to interact, which is why many people will use it to run away, we need to re-incentivise cooperation (and why not alliances, which would also lead people to remain on the same server rather than diving)

kinda weird how the ENTIRE community has told them for years to stop updating new things and spend a bit of time to fix it, and the community is now making comments about how quiet the game devs are rn

early bird gets the SoT Drama or whatever i dunno

I’d love to see a system where if you dive your loot AND flag pop up as if you sunk, I think this would encourage fighting or running for your loot

I want a hideout with your ships so you can store cannonballs and go raid with them

I still don’t understand the actual reason arena got taken away. That gamemode made it so EASY to get familiar with PVP elements, instead of waiting for it to come & go in small intervals

Diving made Sea of Thieves feel like I was loading a new match of Fortnite each time

Haven't really played since Season 11, i did a small amount until Season 14 and i haven't played since. They added in too many tools etc that just overcomplicated the game for casual players such as myself, things like the Harpoon gun were fun for PvE, but they were busted when used by PvP and griefers. The only way they could win me back now is if they made Safer Seas actually just PvE High seas, i like to just be on a ship with mates spending hours having fun. I don't like that those hours of fun can be ruined by 1-4 assholes in 5 minutes who have nothing to lose by chasing my ship/crew across the entire map.

I think everyone is pointing too much blame at the diving mechanic. There's more to it than that.

Diving is mainly used for server hopping, which people have been doing since the beginning. Before diving it was portal hopping and before that it was good ol fashioned setting sail on a new ship. All removing diving will do is cause people to revert to doing the older methods.

I'd argue it's a combination of factors that caused player interactions to drop over time. It's not a "here's THE update that ruined everything" type of situation.

A couple examples I can think of being the skull of destiny and the changes to the voyage table. The skull made it so you no longer had to be killed by another player for pink flame to start FotD. That's one less crew interaction that used to be very common. Then later the changes to the voyage table made it so you no longer had to spend doubloons on skull of destiny voyages and could stack them way faster than trying to farm ritual skulls from skelly ships. Because of how easy it became to set up FotD it made the comms a breeze to grind through, the FotD itself became less high-stakes so people lost interest in attempting steals, and even gave people one less reason to do skelly ship world events.

Forget all this i want a sort of higher risk sea with 8-12 player crews and no small ships as well as way more dangerous events

Honestly, I used to love this game. I played during Forsaken Shores, Cursed Sails, and most of the Y1 updates, and the game was beyond expression. But now, it feels like it's lost the sandbox magic. I like to pride myself on being someone who likes to approach people to help, but the main community on this game lean too far into the "Pirate" aspect. Not that it's not ok, it just drives away people who are genuinely looking for a fun time exploring what the game has to offer instead of just fighting for their lives. But that's just my two cents.

I think discussing season 14 next in the series could be interesting. Grapple gun controversy, merfruit, underwhelming weapons, PE weapon creep, and other superfluous features.

Hourglass would be nice if they made it to where an enemy pirate cant operate your wheel or mast. Tired of them not fighting, hoping on your ship, and sending you to the red border and spawn camping you

Of all the updates I'd like a new video on, it would be my favorite update, The Meg update that introduced the Megalodon to Sea of Thieves. The original Meg and its associated questline were so awesome.

My favorite thing to do is forts loved them there fun to do and decent loot i just wished they would have added couple more or added a Uber boss with a low respawn rate but drops a great set of loot.
