SWB2 will probably always be one of the best games that I have ever played. Its funny when I tell that to people because I never got to experience the game when it was at the height of its controversy, I didnt start playing the game until about right after Grievous got released so for me the game was pretty much always a great experience. I probably started at the perfect time lol. What did you think of the game?

shoutout jev for putting me on

This could’ve been the greatest game of all time

What makes the cancellation even more tragic is that not only was it largely out of the developer's hands, it also has doomed Battlefront III from ever happening at EA. Not only did EA shoot it down due to liscencing fees (which is a whole other stupid matter I won't get into) but most folks who developed BF2 left for studios that would actually let them make Star Wars games. Star Wars deserves better multiplayer experiences beyond Destiny 2 and Fortnite events, and until we get a new game this one will be my go-to option.

Good to see this still gets covered. I wrote about lootboxes and gambling in my Law degree years ago and my work reached the house of lords in the UK during the hearings leaving me to feel like i helped defend our hobby at least a little bit from corporate greed. God bless.

DICE really put their all into this game, it’s a shame EA shackled them for the majority of its development and lifecycle. Thank god they are pro-mods so the community have done fantastic at picking up where the DICE team were forced to leave off

WE NEED BATTLEFRONT 3 SPREAD THE WORD!

Wow, I didn't know the game had so much gambling and was pay2win on the start. When I first downloaded the game in 2022 for exactly 0$, I had all content unlocked for free. Nevertheless I'm thankful for all the fighting star wars fans have done, as it has become my favourite pc game. Truly a worthy story.

See, I think something that a lot of people don’t or at least didn’t realize, was that EA and DICE were legally REQUIRED to make content to tie in with the new films that were being released.

Thats why Battlefront 2015 had the Battle of Jakku update that released alongside Episode 7, and the Scarif DLC, as well as the Rogue One: VR mission, to release alongside Rogue One.

Then The Last Jedi season, for Battlefront 2 in 2017.

And unfortunately, due to the way that Solo: A Star Wars Story got reshot and changed around, then was somehow miraculously ready to release about 7 months early, it meant that DICE HAD to make content for to tie in with the movie, rather than make Clone Wars content, or else they’d have to face legal backlash from Disney and lose their exclusivity contract they had with Disney.

As someone who's played from day 1. I forgot how much this game evolved 😂

They killed this game for no reason

watching this game grow into one of the best star wars games ever made was amazing. Sticking with it since 2017 was one of the best decisions I've ever made

Crazy to think this game used to get updates

It's quite unprecedented that EA responded with "here's literally everything including cosmetics for free, knock yourself out".

I'm having fun with this game now. It's a blast from the past just having everything unlocked, nothing to grind for (except a small amount of leveling of your character I suppose), you just play because you want to.

11:14 absolutely beautiful reference

Mustafar and or Utapau, Magnaguards, Jedi Temple guards, Jango, Windu, and above all crossplay. That's all I wanted

I remember during the initial controversy saying "I'm never gonna buy this game, doesnt matter if they remove the microtransactions, damage had been done"

But then in 2022 I picked up the game for 5$ with most of the content unlocked, and Ive gotta admit is was really fun for that price, even though it lacked seemless ship to ground content

"All eras of star  wars"
Old republic: are we a joke to you?

grievous being bad at blocking blaster fire makes sense since he isn't force sensitive, it's a canon weakness not a game design choice
