I REALLY love this portrayal of Sans, he’s not this “hero” who’ll kill you for all the genocided you do (like in every lyric video I’ve ever seen). but instead he’s just a depressed “jester” knowing he’s last on your list, so even though he knows he doesn’t stand a chance against you, he’s just determined to make this fight the most PAINFUL one for every life you took.

this is the first take on sans' voice i've heard that feels natural. all the others feel like they're deliberately playing a character; wrath's take sounds like a person.

they actually slashed Wrathstetic in the torso and forced him to read those lines out trust me guys

Wrath absolutely got the mood of that ending cutscene down.
Sans isn't just tired, he's too tired to even be angry anymore. It flares up in his voice every so often, but at this point he doesn't have the energy to spare getting worked up.
He just sounds frustrated that THIS is what you use all that power for. And god, that final blow. Sounds like someone genuinely got stabbed in the damn gut for that.

Side note: I also love that little, "whatever" he says under his breath when he asks why we "bit the hand"

The crazy thing is people say sans is lazy because he can only dodge about 20-21 times, but he isn’t lazy. He is literally defying the fighting mechanic, which probably takes up a lot of energy just to do it once because he is basically the only monster that can do it in Undertale

Holy shit, this was insane. It's no longer Sans, the hero of the underground, since Sans was never meant to be that. It's just a violent spit in the face of whoever thought all this death was worth it, and that's really what the Sans fight was. Just a big bag of cheap tricks to screw over anyone who got there, as one last screw you before the world ends. This was amazing!

I LOVE how unconventional all of this is, Sans sounds nothing like other interpretations, his voice seems constantly tired but also focused and genuinely full of humor, the lyrics don’t directly address the fight but use parallels to talk about the reasons and stakes that support it and brought you to do a genocide in the first place, like a reflection over 10 whole years of doing this dance over and over, a summary of the constant losing battle.

And he is SPITTING out the words, full of energy and malice unexpected from him (which is kind of the point of this whole fight) because he’s got nothing left to do but put himself in your way, and so by god he’ll make it so it means something. This is unlike every take I’ve seen on lyrics, animating or voicing the fight in 10 whole years and it’s definitely already one of my favorite depictions.

A fun little thing I’ve noticed is that in every video Sans has been in so far, he always starts the song off with “anyway”
In “sans.”: “anyway, never thought that today a little human from the ruins would come walkin’ my way.”
In “It’s Raining Somewhere Else”: “anyway, good evening. at least, I’m sure it is to someone, somewhere.”
And now, in “MEGALOVANIA”: “anyway, you made it. looks like you just couldn’t listen.”
Just a fun little thing I’ve noticed.

"Oh cool a megalovania anniversary lyric cover lets hear i-" gets turned to dust by peak

This is by far one of the best "with lyrics" videos I've ever seen.
It takes the base song and it doesn't sing over it, it sings with it
It feels like it could unapologetically stand on its own.

Everyone is talking about how cool and unorthodox this Sans voice is, but no one is talking about he sounds like he's using the Sans-Serif font instead of Comic Sans, like he does in "should be burning in hell" and "you're gonna have a bad time".
I'm not sure if that's intended or not, but I never heard a Sans voice that captures his other font.
And other than that I LOVE (pun intended) how accurate this is to the actual monologue Sans is giving in-game, instead of what could be called the "lyricial cover!fanon!Sans"

7:58 I got caught offgaurd with how gutteral that scream was. Sans really felt every point of damage with that attack.

“YOU SHOULDA THOUGHT OF THAT BEFORE YOU KILLED MY-“

hype moments and aura everywhere, thank you wrath

Girl this the absolute best Megalovania cover I have heard! It actually feels in character for sans instead of him being the super hero of the underground

Let me just say, the "burning in hell" was peak.
I'm SO done with over the top, anger bursting forth ones, it makes sense that sans finally blows his top but the quiet anger feels so RAW.

Man the sans fight is just so. Narratively cool and awesome. This fight, how its meant to be so many things, a punishment, a last stall for hope, and an awakening for frisk. A lot of people seem to forget the slight growth that frisk is forced to have in this fight. We always like to say they are just a blank slate, but they aren’t. Through the whole route frisk doesn’t reallly show much care or remorse, they stay quiet most time and only occasionally add stuff, like how they hate soda. Even the undyne fight, frisk is pretty quiet, and even IF they die, no comment on it ever occurs. But for sans, frisk starts to crack at a foe that can mimic that unfairness, that PAIN they caused to so many with a bs mechanic, sans does to us. Frisk gruels in the fact they couldnt just beat sans with a simple snap of their fingers. They get frustrated, mad, upset like a little kid that they are being matched for once. And thats something people just dont give sans credit for. Frisk doesn’t kill sans with no effort, they struggle. And by the end the realization of “we would of lost if not for loading” is super apparent. Sans’ battle is meant to kill you, a blind first playthrough, you are 100% going to die to sans, if no one else. Frisk is meant to see that someone can stand in their way. Aside from frisk’s ability, sans completely has frisk. Frisk for the whole fight is now at the mercy of sans, the death’s reflecting that and its just beautiful. Sans will always be my favorite character for all the themes he represents. Thank you sans, you ARE the poster boy for undertale for a damn reason. Happy birthday undertale, and you too sans.

with the quality and vocal range of the VAs on this channel, ESPECIALLY this one, a hope and dreams cover would probably  emotionally break me  😭😭

I really like this interpretation of sans! I was skeptical of it at first, but after watching the whole thing, I can confidently say that it's such a breath of fresh air seeing him be so genuinely pissed. really good stuff

I love you wrath what the HELL that performance was so good, nice job yall!
