I did have my library website up the entire time I watched this. Turns out my library has lots of these books 📚 so now I have a lot of holds 😅 thanks ❤

I'm going to be going through my child's books soon, and this was a good reminder that just because they aren't all necessarily THEIR favorite books, I can still keep those that bring me joy as well.  (And buy used ones for those that were lost to toddler hands and just use.)  We all need joy in our lives, not only as children.

This is becoming my new comfort channel. You are so calming and cozy and I stay interested without being overstimulated. I especially appreciate not having music in the background when you're talking, it's very welcoming at least to me. I'm currently in the process of a big unexpected move and you've been on in the background and it has definitely kept me grounded when I'm stressed about the chaos. I can't wait to watch (and rewatch) all your videos!!!

I’ve lamented for so long that I can’t draw, and some of these books have given me hope! How awesome that someone who started doing art in their 80s was able to be so successful in it, and that “Drawing Is” book looks so approachable. I’m going to order it and start a journal to practice!

deeply into the idea of inspiration you can actually pull off a shelf

I read Wildwood when it came out and it enchanted me. I'm so glad to hear it'll be a movie soon! Love your recommendations—as an art historian, can't get enough

You helped me identify the name of an artist who's style of painting I really like - Grandma Moses! I requested 3 books about her from my library. Many thanks!

I watched this video last week and it sent me on a book search at my local library where I found a number of the books on your list. Thank you. This was such a pleasant discovery for me. I love this sort of YT video that opens windows into new books, new realms that I somehow missed along the way. I didn't know Over the Garden Wall was a thing, particularly on YouTube where one can do a deep dive. And most recently I saw Wild Wood is a feature soon to be released.
I loved having a peek into your studio and seeing the transformation which is a wonderful, whimsical upgrade, You have truly made it yours. The one piece that struck me out of everything is the quilt on the back of your chair. I am a quilter and I typically go to the dark side, specifically black. But seeing the white quilt with the pastel colored stars was another source of inspiration. It is so light and cheerful. I might have to consider a different palette in the future.
I might be back in to touch once the books begin to trickle in from my library. I hope you don't mind me saying- I consider this to be Divine Timing as I am opening up again to my own creativity and your videos contribute to the boost I need to get going.Yay! Keep doing what you are doing. Peace Liz G

❤❤❤

I just happened upon your video. And I have to say, I am so happy I did! My biggest takeaway was my renewed appreciation of my collection of art books and children's books. ❤I am 75 years old and I have the most amazing children's book collection! I purchased them because I was fascinated with the art. I also always thought that one day I would illustrate my own children's books, so I learned a lot from observing the art within them..  Some of them even go back to my mother's childhood! I am also an artist and come from an art family, and I have a palethra of art books ! I'm going to be moving in the next few years, and I keep thinking that I will have to leave most of my books behind. It's a move across the ocean from Hawaii to California...and you just convinced me not to leave my precious companions behind! Why should I? I absolutely love my books and get so much pleasure from them! after watching your video I have decided they are coming with me! Thank you for this, and i've just subscribed!🥳

I love these type of videos sm 🎉 thank you for sharing your collection!! Since I also own a couple of Pre-Raphaelites books I’m going to say my favorites from your collection are the Essential Pre-Raphaelites book and the pop-up books by Vojtěch Kubašta ✨

Omg! I just stumbled upon this video and I am in love!!! Your passion and appreciation of the children’s books and all the amazing illustrations have brought a smile to my heart at a very difficult time. Thank you!!!!

I just ordered my first drawing book, or my first as an adult I guess so a very long time. It's a guide to Celtic knot art!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful and inspiring books, I've not seen some of them before. hoping for more book review videos :)

I volunteer at a library that has exclusively childrens books. I wish i could work there everyday haha. The illustrations for these books is often so so so beautiful and i wish i could just be there all day, flipping through random books when there are no customers around.
I will get a library card there soon to lend books for free (usually only the children will get books for free, but since the library is ran by volunteers only we get to lend books for free aswell. But only after being there for at least 6 months) i am especially looking forward to taking some picture books :)

I am in awe of your collection, so lovely! I have a variety of art/art type books as well, it is nice to have someone else's ideas just sitting in your house readily available to enjoy or study whenever you want. I love Edward Gorey, have since I was a kid! But, the moment you showed that Alphabet book - boom- mind blown! I love paper engineering and graphic design and that was all of it and more. Wow!! I am now going to be on the hunt for that book and probably a few of the others you showed as well! Thanks for sharing! :)

Loved this! I added some books to my used book wish list. I really love children's illustration books and popup books. Where the Wild Things Are and In the Night Kitchen are two of my favorites. As a small child I giggled a lot because Mickey was naked.   Have you ever looked at any of Robert Sabuda's popup books? My very favorite is Winter's Tale. I also really like The Night Before Christmas, The Christmas Alphabet, and Encyclopedia Prehistorica.

not even a minute in and im already feeling comfy and welcome :]

I went and checked out the children’s books at my local library! I haven’t been to the children’s sections since I’m childless but it actually was really fun flipping through the books! Thanks for the recs ❤

YOU HAVE KUBAŠTA'S POP-UP BOOKS, NO WAY?!  I didn't expect this at all:O He was a Czechoslovakian artist, had no idea you can get his books anywhere out of my home country:D This is just so cool, I have a few of them after my mum and they are amazing.
