Nice to see they have the BEST plows behind them

Nice to see that beautiful older equipment in use  thanks

🇬🇧I remember the funny one-way ploughs, everybody had them at one point. I like watching them though. The trick was ploughing both ways, and straight.

I was a mechanic at my hometown John Deere dealer back in those days. Worked on all of them. 3020, 4020, 4320, 4520, 4620, 5020, 7020 and 7520. Worked on them up through the 50 series. I have a 3020 diesel with only 4100 original hours, and a 4320 with a cab and a 158 loader with 9100 hours. I've went through the engine and the top shaft in the transmission. It's a nice sized loader tractor. I gusseted the front spindles for the loader work and put the bigger wheel hubs and heavier wheels on front. The key to keeping the front end together and not breaking spindles is to only carrying one round bale at a time. She is in nice very condition. Wouldn't give up either one of them. I have a 200 Allis Chalmers with 4380 hours that is a good tractor and in nice condition, but I wouldn't mind replacing it with a 4440 if I could find one that's been taken care of and at least a somewhat reasonable price.

The 7020 and 4620 shared the exact same engine initially. Roatary Injection pump and a flat roof Intercooler. In 1973 when the 30 series debuted, the 7020 used the same engine as the 4630 with it's updated inline Bosch A series Injection pump and slant roof Intercooler. All variants were on a 404 cubic inch block that used "Turbo Built" technology of the time.
I owned a 4620 PowerShift for several years. I could pull 5-16 anywhere mostly in 5th gear. 6-16 was the usual weapon and mostly 4th and sometimes 5th gear for that one.
John Deere hit and even advertised on the idea of pulling lighter loads faster with the 4000 tractor over a 3020. Less fuel, less strain, more coverage per hour. This was instead of pulling every last plow you could at a crawl. Gear up guys, they'll be just fine.

Still running a 1972 4620. We bought it in 2006 its been a great machine. Has a 4630 engine in.

Still farming with a 4620.I owned it for 42yrs.Its also turned up about 180hp.Also I have a 4020 and 4010 farm with them too.

Best Plows ever made !

Always liked those JD 7000 artics.

Nice old equipment. I live in western Canada.  Do you need to plow? Most Alberta farmers quite plowing 50 years ago. We have been using zero till for 20 plus years. Our fuel costs are dramatically lower now. Yields are much better than before and soil condition is much better than when we were plowing.  Soil erosion is a thing of the past. We now are cropping every year. No one summer fallows any more.

Please get the factory muffler back on  them! They just sound sick with straight pipes! I'm 79, and had a 7020 and 7520 in my farming days yrs back.       Ron

Growing up in the 80s here in west tennessee ive sit my butt on a many of 4020 fenders and 4430 4440 4450 4630 4640 4840 4955 4960s in the seat all day back then we would break ground disk it bed it doall it down bed it back up on 38 inch rows then plant cotton
