I like this bag a lot for travel. Use packing cubes to help stabilize things inside. Fits under the seat in front of you on the plane. If you can pack lite (one other pair pants and three t shirts, for example) there is room to bring back small things like chocolates and souvenir t shirts. I use the bottom zip compartment for laptop and phone chargers.

Found your page today and loving every bit! Trying to decide between this bag and the mlc 30 (already watched your video on it ahaha) I am petite so might go for patagonia

As much as I love the Base Camp range, I feel the 32L Voyager can be a bit of a redundant one, when the beefier standard Base Camp Duffel Small is also a cabin luggage size, with more capacity (50 litres). This may be a bit comparable to the Fuse Box

I really appreciate the history/comparisons & love the specs in the description.

Amazing review!!!!

That divider in the middle looks really awesome. I wonder if more manufacturers will pick up this feature.

I'm using TNF Base Camp Duffles for more than 15 years now. And the large ones. I saw the quality declining. My old one looking better compared to the recent ones after just few years.
Overall, that one is a badly designed travel bag.
Duffel bag, despite of the actual hype, are not confortable to wear on the back (and I carried one on my back with weight ranging from 10 to 30Kg, to travel with gear). In this case, the shoulder straps are attached to close, so you can expect pressure burns on your neck. The material is not going to hold for long compared to the Base Camp Duffle.
Better Getting the Black Hole from Patagonia (Bag I bought too).

I just bought the 42

Very useful review. You ended up convincing me to avoid this one, and I picked up a peak design duffel for the same price.

Did you ever do a comparison of this bag and the XS and the S Base Camp? This bag is listed as 32 L but the dimensions suggest it is actually closer to 40 L. Would appreciate seeing them side by side

Hi.. I really liked your video. Awesome explanation. I am in the market for my new bag and I can certainly use your suggestions. Can you please suggest some options like all-in-one for Gym/Hiking/Weekender and padded compartment is must for 16" Macbook Pro. I prefer North Face but its doesn't have to be. :)

@baileyjacomides3273 4 years ago

do these bags collapse? I need a duffel for camp that would fit into my trunk so would it fit?

@lostcityzen9792 3 years ago

Is that an XPS 15? Glad to know it doesn't fit, was about to buy that bag

I'm getting this bag soon in the 42L. Love your idea with the shoulder strap on the daisy chain. Were you worried at all about the stitches bearing the weight of the bag, or did it seem to carry okay? Thank you! :)

Would u recommend this bag for a 10 day trip from Swiss to Sydney? I want to just take one bag, also a flight. Cabin friendly one

@w4r7 2 years ago

Can the predecessor model (31 L. TNF Base Camp XS) be considered a personal item? This being a longer dimension kills the idea of purchasing this for personal item air travel.

Hi, what do you think of the new Base Camp Voyager backpack which was released recently in 35L and 26L formats?
I was about to get the Patagonia Mini MLC 30L but then I found out about the TNF and now I can't decide, the 35L seems better than both the Patagonia and this old Voyager 32L
