would absolutely love a book/library tour video and a bit of history of where and when the books came into your possession :)

Malcolm is the man. These videos are such a treat. Thank you.

I started reading The Faerie Queene shortly after finding this channel and totally fell in love with it, really good to hear it read

Another great video. Much appreciated Malcolm.

I love Spenser! I saw his grave in Poet's Corner in Westminster Abbey the other day - apparently he wanted to be buried near Chaucer, his hero, and that's where the tradition of burying poets there came from. Spenser, Ben Johnson and Milton were all tucked away behind some chairs!

Lovely reading of Spencer, and I was tickled to hear of Professor Tolkiens distance for the nonsense words. Gave me a chuckle. I am now wanting an Albion Porter!

Epic endeavours are the most beautiful! My gratitude to those who undertake them. Thank you, Malcolm! 🙏🤗

This brought back memories. More than 30 years ago I wrote my Master’s thesis on Book II of Spenser’s Faerie Queene, and the basic text I used was the A. C. Hamilton edition with that same gray paperback cover.

As always, welcoming,  informative, and encouraging. Thanks Malcolm for your great uploads.

Hello from Kansas

Well it looks like a perfect Time to smoke some of the country squires Kings highway in my Rhodesian as I watch your video

Epic poetry with an epic mug. Excellent. I for one would welcome hearing you delve more into this poem.

Wonderful synchronicity. I've just been listening to The Faerie Queene on YouTube in a vox libre series. Each canto is a separate episode and I can't sustain concentration for more than one at a time, but I'm enjoying it immensely. It's strange but exciting, a bit like the feeling I had reading The Lord of the Rings as a young teen. Thanks for this tutorial. Your enthusiasm is contagious. I love this channel and the pipes - takes me back to my childhood in early 1970's England when my father read to us children whilst puffing on his pipe in his chair by the fire.

Absolutely wonderful, I learned so much from this and enjoyed your enthusiasm about Spenser so much that I will endeavor to read more of his work, thank you.

Well now I got to check Spencer and Miss Reynolds’s version both out now Malcolm!!! Great video blessings from red neck in Mississippi

I always look forward to these uploads. This is my first time hearing of these poems. Cheers to you and your family!

Absolutely delightful to hear you read from this, Malcolm! I too bought the wondeful Rebecca Reynipds set. As for your scholarly Longman edition, its editor, A.C. Hamilton, was my professor for a course on Spencer when I attended Queen’s University in Kingston many decades ago. Wheat a splendid experience that was!

Thank you for inviting us in..

I read the invocation and first canto this evening… he is behind so much of my favourite literature but I’d never actually read it. Recently I was dipping into Milton again, and starting on some poems of my own, when I realised it was about time I went back to faerie queene.

I was absolutely blown away by it. I think I imagined it’d be a slog because of the language or because as much as I love Milton, I find him hard to follow…
But faerie queene, it’s still so alive.
I didn’t find the language tricky at all.

Just found your channel this morning. Thank you 💛💛

As always, thank you for this lovely reading, and for another expansion of my knowledge. I remember reading Book One of the FQ long ago when I was in university. I loved it and I always meant to come back and read it properly -- and to finish the poem. Maybe now in my retirement I finally have enough time 😊
