I remember being read a book by my mom when I was a kid. It was about 2 children who ventured into dark forrest and found a house with a fence made of bones. There was a witch and she tried to eat them I think. I can only remember little parts of the story and some of the drawings in the book. The drawings where black and white like a pencil sketch but I remember the trees of the forrest and the house being so creepy looking and detailed. After growing up I remembered being read the book by my mom and I asked her about it and she can't remember it at all... I couldn't remember the name of the book when I asked and I tried to find it online but couldn't find anything even close. I kept getting hansel and grettel stories from the search results but after watching this video and the way you described the witch, I am certain that it was a story about Baba Yaga...

The whole video is good, but one very minor details stuck out to me. You’re the first person I’ve heard correctly pronounce Baba Yaga. I’ve only heard Americans and Brits say the name, meaning I’ve also been saying wrong until now. Good job on being through. I can tell you want things to be as correct as you’re able to produce, and I appreciate that. Keep up the great work. I believe the best is still ahead for you. ✌️💜

Хочу дополнить парочкой интересных моментов:
Во-первых, некоторые древние славяне иногда хоронили своих мертвецов в небольших, примерно размером с сам труп, домиках на деревьях, которые по традиции ставились на границе с лесом. Дверь при этом располагалась в стороне, обращённой к чаще. Здесь нетрудно проследить аналогию с Бабой Ягой, избушкой на курьих ножках, её костяной ногой и носом, что врос в потолок. Это ещё раз показывает ассоциацию её образа со смертью и границей между миром живых и мёртвых.
Во-вторых, у древних славян был ритуал: знахарка аккуратно заворачивала младенца в тесто и на лопатке на несколько секунд засовывала в печь. Это было безопасно для ребёнка и считалось, что оберегает его от болезней. Таким образом, стремление Бабы Яги засунуть детей в печку может быть отражением этого ритуала, демонезированного со временем.
