This was the worst thing to happen in september of 2001

Probably shouldn't say "I'm not sure" and "I've never heard of this" for every question if your plan is to cheat your way to a win lmao

what if you cough at every right answer just to frame someone

That brilliant ad tho 🤣

ngl the gameshow mafia is the cutest crime syndicate i've ever heard of

That Brilliant ad was something else
Dare I say, it was br-

Two corrections that the Fern video got wrong:
1:05 Lifelines is the correct name in the UK
21:23 Their cat wasn't shot dead, that was fictionalised for the TV Show "Quiz"

We don't call them Jokers, we call them Lifelines

$1 million for knowing the number googol is crazy

While this is in no way a defence or judgement of this specific case, if you ask anyone who plays any game with an element of luck involved, witnessing an outcome with a 0.003% chance of occurring is really not as uncommon as it sounds across hundreds of games. Added to that, when you're guessing a multiple choice answer in this context it's unlikely to ever actually be a 1 in 4 chance because usually at least one or two of the answers will be ruled out even just by being obviously incorrect, so the odds are almost certainly way higher than that.

As a British person we call them lifelines, i don't know what this joker is talking about.

Celador director: there were irregularities, and these suspicions were reported to the police
Charles: I completely refute that obviously
Also Charles: *never heard what the irregularities and the suspicions were

FERN makes great vids 💯 glad you're reacting to one of their vids

The his guy walked so vibrating but plug to cheat could run.

seems to me they may have gotten away with it if the code was more complex and there was some way he could tell the others how confident he was to reduce the amount of suspicion. If he knew literally none of them it would have been hard to pull off anyways though.

what a BRILLIANT ad segway

In the tv documentary about this case. Tecwen Whittock one of the contestants sitting near Ingram who was also in on the fraud was heard even coughing with a NO afterwards when Ingram was about to give the wrong answer to a question.

1:05 Called 'Jokers' over here as well. Synonymous with 'hint'.

Uk says lifelines

My brother in Christ, it's not even the biggest fraud in game shows.
