In my opinion what made Alexi so impressive is that he was able to play incredibly technical stuff, while singing, drunk/hungover, and it was just a guitar plugged straight into an amp. Little to no Fx, no gimmicks, no editing: just pure talent. Just like Malmsteen, his virtuosism was organic, wild and honest. And he made it look easy.

RIP Wildchild, it still hurts to this day man.

Alexi was the greatest guitarist ever in my opinion! I hope he rests in peace.

Whole COB crew was fucking briliant. RIP Wildchild

Alexi is probably one of the greatest musicians that has ever lived.

His technique is flawless, those sounds he produced were as pure as it can be.

RIP Alexi Liaho 😢💔🙏!! I'll never forget how much heartache I was feeling when I found out that he'd passed away 💔 😢. It was like reliving the loss of another Legendary guitarist in Dimebag Darrell Abbott 🤘🎸🎶!! Alexi will always be remembered & celebrated by all Heavy Metal guitarists in the world. We all miss ya Alexi Liaho 🤘😎🤘!!
Getcha Pull <3 😎🤘🍻💯

Includes times when Janne Wirman was the best keyboardist on earth

He managed to combine his flawless technique with a great ear for melody. He composed beautiful solos, and you could really feel his inspiration from the glam metal era too. It hurts more and more each year that he gone...

Been on a big CoB kick this year, nice to see it's not just me

I was lucky to meet Alexi a few times. He was a fine gentleman, and very nice to the fans. First time I met him I was leaning on a tour bus waiting for the doors to open to the venue. Then this little guy asked me if I could move so he could get on the bus. Now I’m 6’6 and he is more dio size. I loved of course and later that night when bodom hit the stage my late wife and I looked at each other and just smiled. He was so powerful on stage. I believe they were in support of iced earth in Seattle that time

COBHC forever!!! Got to see them 7 times and met/ hung out with alexi and the band multiple times. Super grateful. RIP my idol

One of the most influential guitarists of all time IMO. We marvelled at this guy, he owned 1999-2006.

He created a very unique and easily reckognisable sound. What a legend.

Say what you want about Children of Bodom, but we'll never have a blackened pop metal band this fucking neoclassical ever again.

You forgot ‘ Kissing The Shadows’ live in Seoul South Korea! He doe’s that entire long ass solo nearly flawless

now that most of us are much older than the first day we discovered CoB and Alexi, just think for a moment at what age was he when he composed and performed those songs!

He was a legend even in the early days!  I still remember when a friend showed me COB back in probably 2004 and I immediately fell in love!

I remember seeing that performance at guitar clinic back then as a young man and have just shockingly realized that that was almost a quarter-century ago. By that time i got married (and divorced...), bought a lot of guitars and albums, have been to a lot of festivals, became a father of now two adult children, survived some motorcycle-crashes without any harm, have been to countless concerts and... became bald. Damn time, you scary!!!

Man instead of the Sixpounder, should have put the video from the Everytime I Die solo! still gives me chills everytime I see it
