Hello. I am Jang Yang-hee, host of the VOA Korean podcast "We’ve Come This Far."

Ri Jong-ho, who served as the General Manager of the Korea Daeheung Trading Corporation under the North Korean Workers' Party’s Room 39, has recently completed writing a memoir that took three years to compile his memories and records from the past 30 years.

This book, which has not yet been published, covers why a high-ranking official who succeeded under the North Korean regime was compelled to leave the country with his family, and how he views North Korea's financial and power structures today based on those experiences. It also includes the actual lives of the North Korean elite, the possibility of change within the Room 39 leadership, North Korea-Russia military cooperation, cybercrime, and the U.S. approach to North Korea.
