Caution: If you rig a simple 3:1 Z-Rig, do not rig it with a double-sheave because the block is being pulled off-axis which can cause significant rub & wear on the rope and also increases the friction in your system.

Right, a common way to prevent a crazy amount of resets is to split your piggyback with a COD pulley. Many times this is a 90 degree turn and the second haul system is usually much longer as it will collapse at much faster rate.
My question is have you figured out the loss of efficiency by incorporating that 90 degree turn? The rope is having to change directions 90 degrees and even with a high efficiency pulley you are losing MA. Or is it even worth calculating with a 9:1?
