What makes a Scottish home? This week, I’m heading out across Scotland in search of beautiful Scottish homewares, craftsmanship and inspiration to bring back to our 300-year-old house in the Scottish Highlands.
We begin at home with beautiful Scottish bedding from Ava Innes, exploring how natural materials and thoughtful design can bring warmth and comfort to a bedroom.
Then we’re off to the Isle of Lismore on Scotland’s west coast. We’re exploring the island and meeting the maker behind Lismore Luminations, discovering the people, places and landscapes that inspire Scottish products.
Our next stop is House of Bruar, where I’m browsing Scottish country-style interiors, home accessories and decorating ideas, sharing some of the things I’d choose for our own house.
Finally, we’re heading home to see what I brought back and how these discoveries fit into our old Highland home.
For me, making a Scottish home is about more than tartan and Highland imagery. It’s about colour, materials, craftsmanship, history and finding beautiful things that connect a house to the landscape and culture around it.
If you love Scottish interiors, Scottish homewares, country house decorating, traditional interior design, Scottish makers, historic homes and life in Scotland, I hope you’ll enjoy coming along.
