On the roughing the passer play, the first flag is for the D lineman who holds 65, Trey Smith, so he can't block 44 coming through.

That ref was calling the holding penalty that was declined on while the roughing call was accepted

They replaced their RPO offense with a 1990s run-first play-action offense. Marty Schottenheimer is beaming in heaven for Andy.

On that roughing the passer on Mahomes, a hold call was also called against the Dolphins on that same play.
As Always GO CHIEFS!!!

Chiefs is now an undercenter play action team with tough runningbacks and I am here to enjoy those plays.
I really appreciate your analysis, love how you admire plays and call it out when it is a mistake. Keep up the great work 👍

I love watching other people marvel at Patrick because I do the entire game this dude is crazy good

Excellent analysis.
10:15 Worthy seems to be a little lost this season but this is exactly how they need to use him.
17:56 Noah Grey struggled last year with an injury but now that he's healthy, I hope they use him more. He's not Kelce but he has great hands.

5:19 loving the Thorton clips every week

@ 5:15  "cheerleaders aren't happy about it, but nice play."  I have no idea why I found that so funny.

I like the 50/50 ball to Noah Grey that you pointed out the deep cross to Worthy should be the read, which was WIDE open. And then you thought to yourself, maybe I won’t go too far into that because Andy will probably use this play again knowing that it’ll be open again and I don’t want to show opposing defenses just how wide freakin open this play gets him. This play alone shows that Worthy is fine, everyone thinks otherwise. Andy uses regular season games with a lead as practice for future games, he will probably use this play again and still not hit Worthy, then use it again in the Super Bowl when we have a 3rd and long or must have it play. And great breakdowns as always by the way

Schwartz, Kelce, Daniel, Dunn all putting up great podcasts. Would be cool to see as a future coaching staff.

The flag was probably already out bc of that hold on the same play

something I want to mention is that the ref may have been calling the defensive hold that was on the same play as the roughing the passer

Again, wonderful wonderful job absolutely love your analysis. The rough in the passer was automatically thrown because the rough sore he was too high. He was going for the head and the neck area. You see the second one, but he just showed at the 2118 point that was more of a chest bash to blast Mahomes the guy before you can see it. He’s all up in the neck in the head area of Mahomes that’s automatic protection of quarterback you can tell where the guys arms are before eave is gonna blast Mahomes that it was rough in the past you have to stay from the collarbone down to be in the safe area and he was up high to the throat and head area and that’s a penalty automatically. They can see it before it even happens it’s automatic they’re gonna protect every quarter quarterback.

On the Roughing the passer play there were 2 penalties on Miami. Yes Roughing the passer was called but before that the first ref to throw the flag was throwing it for defensive holding on the D line. He held Trey smith. That is why he was grabbing his flag. Then there was the roughing the passer call.

The thing you missed on the play with roughing the passer penalty is the DT/DE (92) is holding the guard.  That's why he can't get back inside to the B gap.  You can see him try to release but can't go anywhere.

I’m glad you know what you’re talking about cuz I have no clue.  Lmao 😂. But thanks for breaking it all down. It actually helps and makes sense. lol.  Nice work bro

The ref that threw the flag first was for the holding call. The roughing the passer was next. The reason Mahomes got hit was because 65 Trey Smith got held. That’s why the first flag came out. Trey even looked back at Chop Robinson as he broke free. He couldn’t get to him because he was being held.

A running back with so many yards after the first hit synergizes perfectly with an offense that gets so many yards after the catch. Mahomes on play action is a savant. Without a major flaw being exposed at the line or in injury, this offense is gonna steal your soul come January

That second play is my favorite Madden play, I run that play out of almost every formation
