How do you survive when a passenger plane suddenly plunges from 34,000 feet? In this detailed cockpit recreation, aviation experts break down the terrifying sequence aboard the Flydubai Boeing 737 MAX 8, where the co-pilot allegedly attacked the captain and the aircraft entered a steep nose-down descent. From the pilot triggering the 7700 emergency squawk to alert authorities, to his desperate attempt to reach the cabin for help, the simulation reconstructs the critical moments that followed. The experts also explain how a passenger and two additional pilots helped regain control and bring the aircraft down safely despite the loss of the rudder.

❤🙏 Smit Machchhar 🙏❤️ What a demonstration of bravery, presence of mind, and selfless heroism. When you’re back on the job, I pray that I have the privilege of flying in your airplane.

Helpful to understand while being in simulator, nice work. However also let the captain speak more as he is the expert there.

Very very scary. A nightmare for the passengers. Thank God, the flight landed safely. Thanks for the elaborate explanation of the situation.

The irritating part in this simulation is Vishnu Som acting as an expert on flight over the captain.

It’s a team effort that saved the lives of hundreds. Imagine if the passenger were to sit on their seats thinking it’s a turbulence 😮.

Salute Capt Smith.Praying for His complete recovery.

Captain Smit is an absolute hero! While under attack and in a nosedive, he was able to not only switch on his transponder to Squawk code 7700, after rapidly dropping 15,000 feet he was able to enter Squawk code 7500 - a rare code specifying a hijacking or violence in the cabin.

So they were about 1 minute from impacting the ground? That is another miracle. So many miracles on that airplane. God was surely with that Captain, the crew and passengers. And to think that they were even able to stabilize and land the plane with the tail rudder torn off is absolutely amazing. God is so good. I hope the Captain makes a full recovery and that all who helped are recognized.

JUST UNBELIEVABLE.. I only have one question.. What that attacker was doing when captain was trying to open the door.. was he still attacking the captain ? If so, that is even incredible situation for Captain to manage and save all the lives.. our hero must have determined NO MATTER WHAT I AM GOING TO DO ANYTHING TO SAVE THE LIVES OF PASSENGERS
