I’d love to see your take on all the main chaos legions like you did with the loyalists

@Mosaic117 1 year ago

I won’t lie, the most fun I’ve had with chaos marines as a chaos marine player is creating a custom renegade warband. The lore developed every time I paint up a new unit and what’s not to love about original colour schemes?

Word bearers are always a nice one to see painted, especially if you enjoy going the extra mile with runic markings and scripture, etc

Chaos space marines were definitely intended to be slightly shorter than primaris, they came out at a time when GW were really into trying to make the divide between regular marines and primaris marines a thing, it's only been more recently that they've started to blur the lines. Interestingly plague marines were updated alongside primaris, so I do wonder if they were made now if they'd stand a lot taller.

It’s crazy how Jay can make me go “wow, another fake-black-blue-armored space marine!” To “wow, another black-armored space marine!”

Just want to point out that CSM tend to be firstborn with firstborn equipment, so both they and their equipment are smaller than primaris marines and their equipment

8:40 crazy how shiny new guy looks without a drop of metallic paint. Your NMM has gotten incredible.

Legionaire lookin' good - I mean bad - bad to the bone! How about Word Bearers for the next one? Very inspiring to see how you approach the different paint jobs, and your unquenchable enthusiasm! EOB rules!

Aren’t they smaller because they are traitors from the heresy, or firstborn marines who turned traitor in the 10,000 years between then and now? Lore wise they should be smaller than Primaris. A fairer scale comparison would be the Mk.3 or 6 kits from HH.

13:41 i love the story of the mini. so cool

@arrond5745 1 year ago

3:59 Jay you really missed the opportunity to sell your website and it's dice

@thecrowsnest2872 1 year ago

I think sticking to a limited palette of 3 colors really makes all space marines look super nice

@InquisitorKryptman 1 year ago

The backpack is because it is a heresy era experimental, less well shielded version of a power pack that produces more power, I believe it was used by destroyer squads during the Heresy and leaks radiation. I imagine it was aesthetic first lore later as the Horus Heresy expanded things in neat ways.

Jay is finally painting Chaos Space Marines, let's gooooo!!!!

While they are plague marines, I can't help but feel seeing some of the more obscure nurgle warbands like the purge and lords of silence could be fun with less overtly-nurgle bits.
