Cromwell and Robespierre shared the same fate: destruction by the machinery of death they themselves created.

The gra0hics let this down , especialy the flickering.

Great narrator and storyteller. Many thanks😊

Cromwell was nothing more than a grifter, a thief, and a virulent opportunist. His case against Anne Boleyn was a travesty; he had paid off the jury to find her and her brother George, a great intellectual, guilty. She had confronted him about stealing the wealth from the abbeys, in public. It was a major insult to Cromwell, that a woman could embarrass him publicly. That was her real crime. He deserved everything he got, and more. His death was grisly; it took the axeman several attempts to cut through his massive neck. What a wussy coward. Cromwell had no empathy for the churches and abbeys he destroyed, to add to his personal wealth. Thousands of priests & monks lost their homes and their positions. As the saying goes: Karma is a bee-atch. The executioner at his end was believed to have been drunk. Too bad for Henry VIII, who lost his best minister -- a serial criminal -- his 'fixer' -- that he ever could wish for.

Excellent.

Cromwell was a " little finger"

Immediately stopped watching when I saw references of Victorian / post Industrial Revolution images used.

Why you gotta put that filter on?

Very interesting and thank you, but it might have been helpful to label the portraits.  As details about Cromwell were covered, you showed the Holbein portrait of Thomas More who was mentioned, but not when his portraits were shown on the screen.  In any event, I learned some very interesting facts about Cromwell and I've read alot about him.

Wow I love it seeing the shear truth of the Catholic Church and take it down. All the dictators of the world let that corrupt church back in

Irritating flickering splotches on photographs.   Can't watch.

Ai slop

Some of the images are irrelevant. What's the point of a Victorian scene of crowds at a railway station?  Sorry, gave up.

You know centuries after you say oh he made up these charges made them worse. We all know the Catholic Church is so disgusting and especially back then.

I've never understood why Cromwell and Henry demolished so many great buildings, many which took decades or a century to construct. Surely, even from a strictly economic perspective, they were more valuable intact rather than as lead, stone and timbers, and why destroy the libraries? Even in that atmosphere, Henry and Cromwell must have had some sense of the irreplaceable history and knowledge contained in them. It truly must have been a frantic cash grab with absolutely no regard for history or posterity.

Lousy fake black "dirt and scratches" spoil, like so many other channels... another video made by a lazy creator who puts an image of the Great Exhibition of London in the 19th century over the story of Cromwell fourvcenturies earlier! Another image shows a horse racing scene centuries wrong, and there are others.!!!

I watched the whole thing expecting to see something horrific like guy Fawkes, they just beheaded him... Well a botched beheading but still more preferable to being drawn and quartered he got off quite lightly considering the types of absurd punishments Henry viii dealt out to others

Does anyone else see any similarities between H VIII and Donald Trump, Cromwell and Steven Miller? History doesn’t repeat verbatim, but it runs in strides. These men have left lasting impacts on their countries and s well as their fetid stench. Every time you see the ruin of a church or monastery you know who’s behind it. In Amerika, land of the grift, Trump’s name and image will be plastered everywhere amongst the smoldering wreckage.

Thomas Cromwell put a bible in every church, written in the English language so that anyone who could read could interpret the scriptures for themselves and not have them preached in Latin by Catholic priests, this doesn’t seem like the work of an evil man.
