I’m lucky that my service dog isn’t an alert dog. (He’s fainting response and autism assistance.) If someone distracts that sucks for me and I have to reorient him but at least he’s not going to miss an alert. I can’t imagine how difficult it must be for those with medical alert dogs. (Btw the reason I don’t need him to do alerts is because I have visible symptoms before my episodes so I can tell when they’re about to happen. It’s his job to get me to a safe spot and make sure I don’t fall.)
NEPS (non-epileptic Psychogenic Seizures, sometimes called dissociative attacks, psychogenic attacks etc. They're seizures that can mimic epilepsy down to auras and post ictals but don't have the electric misfire activity)
My ADIT is for my seizures and my CPTSD,
My seizures went from 10+ minutes average to 1-2 because I taight him positioning.
One of his natural behaviours was to lick my face. And I have incoporated that into his recovery task, because it jeeps me semi conscious so I don't bite my tongue.
He's a pug, so large-small to small-medium. So his recovery position is, if i'm sat down;
Hind legs above hips, Forelegs under collar bones or over shoulders (I prefer under collsr bones, but if i'm not steady enough to corrwct, or he's trying to keep grip, fair dos)
He's a mischeivous boy but i love him x
(Side note, dogs can also help with neurological issues like Tic Disorders and Tourette's Syndrome.
I don't actively train by boy for Tourette's, except to interrupt hitting/scratching tics. But he has made me so much more confident in public just by being around, because he doesn't care about my tics so why tf should I care what others think?

ZigZag absolutely loves babies and prams, and I had to teach him "leave it", especially for those things because we're still not 100% on "no jump", But we are working on it. (His previous owners had a baby -> young toddler, so he gets really excited. And he's a small dog so little kids are the ones he can look in the eye amd he gets excited xD)
My service dog doesnt alert. When I feel scared or out of breath without running, I sit down, and tell him to lay (dpt) he also has tasks like middle, orbit, block, side watch and watch.
I’ve been training my dog Aspen to be an autism assistance service dog! I was diagnosed later in life and when she does go with me places she helps out a ton! We only go to pet friendly stores right now but we’re working on her reactivity to other dogs and heeling as well as her tasks (one will be deep pressure therapy) and I’m so over training haha! I love her though just her barking at other dogs makes me super overstimulated and it sucks. Any tips on how to help her get out of that?
I am training my service dog because I have ADHD and I have anxiety and I pick up my skin and I like so I pick up my skin and I will like snap my fingers. I do it when I’m getting anxious and then when I start getting more anxious I I start picking at my skin
do you guys have any tips for asking my parents to consider getting me a service dog? im planning to train it myself (i have researched dont worry) and maybe have a coach train me to train the dog. i already have a name, breed, vest and everything picked out. i was recently diagnosed with VVS, (or Vasovagal syndrome) its a disability, and it negatively impacts my daily life. that means in qualified, and i would like a service dog to help me with life. any tips? thank you!
I'm planning on getting a Doberman puppy and training it to be my service dog for my autism, ADHD, and anxiety. I've tried and anxiety medication, and I'm on medication for my ADHD right now, but neither of it has helped. I'm trying to see if there's any other fixes before getting a service dog, as they cost so much and my mom isn't very fortunate when it comes to money. If I have to have one, though, I'll be getting a job and paying for all the expenses myself. :p
So I have a fear of dogs jumping/attacking on me I've her 2 fakes jump on me and I had an panic attack I need a service dog but my currently hates dogs so I'm stuck bc he can't become my service dog
