ICE faces a new order to intensify its immigration operations and raise the target to 3,000 arrests per day in the United States. The directive comes amid growing criticism of who is being detained and the pressure on agents to meet these numbers.

In addition, Hurricane Isaias threatens four states and could reach Category 2; shocking images emerge of a six-year-old boy shooting his teacher; Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores face new charges; and a federal judge temporarily halts fines of up to $1.8 million imposed on immigrants.

We also present a ProPublica investigation into the business behind the dreams of hundreds of Dominican children aspiring to reach the Major Leagues.
