I agree that the Cambletown whiskys are pretty special and the Springbank 10 is a personal favourite.

As a casual the Glenfiddich 18 was my favorite for a time, then that spot was taken by the Balvenie Caribbean Cask while I tested other brands like Talisker or Glenlivet which did not impress me that much. The Macallan 12 was extremely disappointing... Awhile ago I was gifted a bottle of Aberlour 12 and that simply became my all time favorite, the flavour intensity is just out of this world and at a great price. Now I need to try out the Aberlour A'bunadh too.

The Arron 10 is absolutely delicious but very hard to find the other expressions are always there but too many people like the 10 what can we do to get rid of them lol

I've been drinking scotch for 50 years. And I have never heard of, or seen any of these. Good luck finding them...

This is great list, as always, but I disagree on Old Pulteney being a replacement for MacAllan 12 as it’s a completely different cask.
My replacements are,
Tamdhu 12
Glendronach 12
Glenfarclas 12
Glenallachie 12
Not necessarily on that order. They are all finished in sherry cask, 12 years, higher ABV, non chilled filter or color added on most of them, and way cheaper and better flavor imho.
Cheers mate! 🥃

Glenallachie 12, it's a must try! Thought, it's probably hard to find in the us?

Why not.....
AnCnoc Peated Sherry Cask Finish NAS {approx. a blend of 5-8 yo} with noticeable Peat 5-7 ppm
(ABV: 43% / Non-Colored
/ Non-chill-filtered
/ Sherry Cask Finish)

Where on earth can you buy Macallan 12 for 65 dollars? In the UK you are looking at £80 minimum, never mind $65.

Nothing is written, it is about your preference. I like Macallan 12, and also Tamdhu 12 or Oban 14, or Redbreast 12, it is just preference…
Do not compel them to Glenfiddich please… 👎
