Thanks for being brave enough to tell your story (even the unpleasant parts). You seem like a really friendly outgoing "people person" and I think being too lonely or isolated is just not good for you. It sounds like there was some major depression underlying and fueling things, which can make life 100x harder. Sending prayers for restoration of your relationship. 🙏

Just think Jane, your story may have helped someone else. Thank you for sharing. My father was a child of an alcoholic parent. It helped me understand where he was coming from when we clashed. Jane never lose hope on regaining a relationship with your son.❤

I grew up with an alcoholic mother. It took a number of years for me to forgive her but I did. I was in my early 30’s when I finally called her and we reconnected. She was in her 80’s and still drinking but at that point I understood the disease and looked past it.
My channel Old Vine Zen was started to show myself that I could do something, because I grew up being told I couldn’t do anything right.
Forgive yourself. It’s about you forgiving yourself. No one else.
