I saw Kerry win the IC title live at SunmerSlam 90.  I wish Kerry didn’t leave us so soon.  He was such a star.

Sad and tragic, Kerry had not lived an easy life.

Kerry was one of the biggest stars in the history of pro wrestling.  I only saw part of his powerful presence in the business as a kid, but I've watched a lot of different matches  and stories he was involved in since.  There was not a brighter star in wrestling in the height of his career.  RIP Kerry...this year he has been gone from the world as long as he was alive.  God bless the entire family

Believe it or not I was in two roll over accidents. In High school I rolled my Bronco and the first time my arm got caught out the window and almost lost my hand and arm. A year later I rolled it again and went thru the windshield and broke my arm and back up all over again. I have no idea other than Jesus why I am alive and was able to keep my arm and life! Just thought I'd share my story

Long live Kerry

That Fukuoka Dome match ending is both inspiring and heartbreaking at the same time.

ya know in a way you could say jimmy carter was the catalyst that killed kerry von erich, if he couldve gone to the olympics and won i think he wouldve had a much different story.

Kerry, David, Kevin..my 3 favorite wrestlers in that order of all time. That will never change.  Kevin is still with us. For the rest, I don't care how they died, its how they lived is why we love them.

Who knows the truth, Kevin doesn't blame his Dad, According to Kevin, they loved his Dad, they were rockstars at such a young age, drug addiction is hard, but at their age with their finances and popularity, would be tough to say I would do different or have done better than Kerry. Again who knows, Fritz might have been a great Dad, those boys were living a life i cant imagine. Sad story for David, Mike, Kerry, Chris....Jack, all of them. Wrestling was just a different sport back then, no one born in 2000s will ever understand. Texas wrestling was something to see

Poor man.. I think he just wanted to live his own life his own way but his father literally mind f#cked all those kids.. he wasn't happy where he was at all in life..

Well done but very depressing geez

This would make one hell of a movie

I never knew Kerry was supposed to be on that Olympic team. More prominently, Al Oerter also lost his chance to go for a record 5th Gold Medal in the Discus throw that year when the games were boycotted.

The Iron Claw is my favorite movie of the last 20 years.  Amazing.

Very good.

You skipped over Kerry’s feud with Jerry Lawler. They had a bunch of high profile matches.

Oh yeah Jack Jr. died before Kerry was born,  electrocuted  from freak accident.

Sad story r I p amen

I actually don't think it's shameful that Kerry wrestled with a prosthetic foot. Unfortunately, he wasn't given ample time to fully recover; hence his reliance on drugs to kill the pain and infection. In his book, Bret Hart said that Kerry confided that he was "waiting for God to tell him when to join his brothers in heaven." Bret tried reminding Kerry about his children. Marty Jannetty said in an interview that Kerry told him "my brothers--they're laughing at me because I'm not in heaven with them." Marty yelled at him, "Don't you talk like that!" I loved watching Kerry wrestle yet never knew that his smile hid so much heartache until I learned about his suicide. I remember in his later WWE promos, he'd say that he was "into Jesus Christ" and his matches were cut shorter. Kerry Von Erich is deeply missed yet fondly remembered as a wrestling legend.

Kerry was my second favorite wrestler
RIC Flair being my first
Kerry killed himself because he had a drug possession case pending, his second one. And his wife refused to get back together with him
The thought of going to prison was more then Kerry could take he shot himself in the chest with his fathers gun . I just wish he would have left WCCW sooner   When he came to WWF I screamed with joy just like the crowd . When I met Bret Harte all I did was ask Bret about The Von Erich’s. Kerry the most Bret was a great guy and he answered all my Kerry  questions .
Kerry often comes to mind as the eighties were the best and worst times of wrestling. We lost many great wrestlers to drugs and suicide
Sad.     Very sad
Kerry was the last of the so called curse.  Bret also told me the truth about the demise of David Von Erich . I  thank Bret for spending the time with me when WWF came to Oakland
