My take/thoughts on a possible decline in the number of us buying ‘luxury brand bags’ (by which I mean Chanel/Hermes/LV/Dior etc)

I thought we could discuss and I thought I’d also show you this contemporary brand that’s new to me xx

I haven’t bought luxury bags in probably two years now. My older designer bags are significantly higher quality than what is being offered now at exorbitant prices. Honestly, I’d rather spend on trips or timeless jewelry than bags that aren’t worth the price.

Just focus on what is really important, family, health and great life experiences.

Hi Sophie, sending you lots of love. I’ve realized I no longer enjoy designer bags—I’ve simply grown out of them. I’ve sold most of mine and kept only a few that I truly love and that still bring me joy whenever I carry them. To me, they’ve lost much of their original sense of class and artistry. Now they feel more associated with being overpriced, overhyped, often lacking in quality, and unfortunately even becoming targets for theft.

Not selling and not buying, I still look though

I don’t buy in stores, I don’t „invest“ my money into travel. I am just saving up😂. Love to watch your videos.

Even if I had the $, I would not go Hermes. Sounds like humiliation

My new luxury purchases are 3 weeks of travel to anywhere and everywhere.😊

Another video you could discuss is the discontinuation of diffusion lines! I noticed a lot of brands are ending the production of their diffusion lines and focusing on the main lines instead, as people are now buying even less than before. These brands include See by Chloe, MCQ by Alexander McQueen, and Versace Jeans Couture.

These diffusion lines were meant to be introductory products intended for those with limited budgets. But, since they aren't doing well, or harm the brand's image of exclusivity, I noticed a lot of them are dying out as of late

I’ve got the bags I always wanted - Chloe drew, mulberry seaton and Lily and D&G Sicily. I’ve no desire to buy anymore as each of these bags fulfill a colour or style need.

I'm not even buying new contemporary, I'm on a vintage journey, especially with Coach and Dooney and Bourke.  My current bag--don't laugh--a tote that looks remarkably like a Coach one from Amazon!  I'm enjoying what I have and loving what I'm finding in vintage.  I even refurbished a bag recently, such a fun project. Those bags you showed are beautiful, enjoy!

The price increases did what we thought they would; priced everybody out

Yes, people are still buying. But not at the same volume.

Ive stopped buying new luxury bags but gotten more into vintage or preloved! I love collecting items that is of my birth year ❤

And oh - also gemstones 😂

I just paused to look at these handbags and they are beautiful! I was like you, buying luxury bags…Chanel,  Lanvan, YSL, etc. I have closets full. Some still have the tags on them. I have a pink Ferragamo bag that I fell in love with. I have never used it and it’s been at least 6 years since I bought it.  Then I stopped buying like so many others. These handbags I LOVE! Thank you for introducing us to them ❤.  They make me excited to buy again ❤

Not me. Quality sucks and I'm not into Hermes bags. I do love the beautiful Scarves❤

Oh dear.  With the grey bag near the beginning of the video, the clasp looks similar to the clasp of Salvatore Ferragamo bags.

The East-West style bag is gorgeous!! xo

I always found luxury handbag unboxing videos really comforting and entertaining.  I appreciate there was an element of smart investment in the purchase of those bags, but I guess some of us who couldn’t afford them were laughing because we could see that the Emperor had no clothes.  Now it seems many more are also seeing that.

Thanks for your update on Parisa Wang. Just looked at her items and it’s great she’s not trying to copy any one style from other brands. She also builds in a lot function like outer pockets and zippered pockets that many other brands lack. Thanks for showcasing as her items are reasonably priced and have beautiful styles. Love the East West bag that you bought and looks like it’d fit a lot. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
