My uncle escaped with Denning from Paramatta that time. Warrick. He spent two years in Grafton trax because of it. Denning himself was out of Grafton earlier and on to Katingal. Where they met up again later.  My uncle said the cops couldn't find Russell in 10 years, Denning served him up inside of a month of his release

My first sentence was in Grafton in the 80s. For bloody driving offences of all things. I met some very interesting people who went way beyond driving while disqualified. Some of those fellas became life long friends, most have since passed away. R.I.P. and I've retired from previous life. I love listening to your stories, especially about those from my generation. Not many left now 😢

Grafton will also be the largest prison down under.

Great video mate love watching these living in London I’ve only heard about a lot of these people from reading choppers books and the underbelly book and watching the series so awesome to see the real stories

I was in Fremantle prison around the early 80s to mid 80s and there was a group of screws called the purple circle who we'd hear come up the tears at night and bash inmates that had given them shit during the day. This and other inhumane conditions like no running water or toilets in the cells, just a shit bucket and the incredible heat during summer was unbearable. This led to the riots which my CO offender was involved in and burnt the prison to the ground. Because it was built in the 1800s the fire trucks couldn't get down the narrow laneways to put the fire out. In 2015 I done a tour and the tour guide I pulled aside after and told him what really sparked the riots. I would love to see a story on those riots. I was at a prison farm when they went down and everybody was cheering watching it on the news, so if you could do some homework, it would make a great story, thank you

That was a fabulous video! Well done mate.

I met RJD and his off sider down the barrel of a gun in a bank in the late 80s.
To say it was eye opening as a twelve yr old would be an understatement, plenty of colourful language and bloody loud, you later grow to understand how the adrenaline rush these guys got out of a bank job was so addictive.
Anyways I remember he pulled his balaclava off as he sat in the getaway car passenger seat of a blue xd ford falcon station wagon, and looked over at me staring at him as they sped off...I guess the door handle didn't break off that xd 😂
Gave me a good story to tell up front of the class next day that's for sure.

Arrived to live in Grafton as a kid..we drove past grafton high school..i assumed it was the Grafton jail 😆..was just after his escape I arrived there.

That Joe Hildebrand is a  complete tosser.

Female prison officers look at Ray thinking

Thank you very much for the membership. Question... who holds the most escapes or attempted from prison?
