Maybe I’m missing something, but doc fees are stupid. Why am I paying you extra to do paperwork you’re already required to do to sell me the car? That’s literally part of your job.

Buy a car with the 8k, save up what would have been the payment for 3 years, then buy another cash car.

I call BS on the temp tag guy.  Cops aren't just letting you drive around on fake temp tags.  BS he has called the bank or any lawyers and is still dealing with this a year later.  That one has to be straight made up because none of that makes any sense at all.  Dude is driving a stolen car with fake tags.  The first time he gets pulled over with tags that don't match the car it is going to be impounded.

I can't believe how ignorant people about interest rates. Why did he buy another car when he already had another Volkswagen?

Having just purchased a Durango (new), I am shocked at these interest rates. 5.99% gave me heartburn. I know I could have probably gotten a lower rate near the holidays, but since I has a specific trim (GT Premium V8 hemi) that I wanted, I didn't want to risk not being able to get what I wanted. I don't understand how people ever get a car paid off at 20% interest.

Never buy a car from a dealership never,, stick to used cars,, never pay over 6 grand,, take it to a trusted mechanic before you buy,, drive it for 5 years,, sell it for 5 grand and buy another,, this way you will never get ripped off

The last thing I want is all those lights and electronics. That is asking for trouble. I dont want them. More expense for BS. No thanks!

Just remember if you’ve got $8,000 you can either buy a cash car (hopefully from a reputable dealer) or you can take that and put it down on a $12-13,000 used car and that expands your options. You’ll be approved with over 50% down

Even if they hit you with 18% you’re looking at a payment less than $120.00 for 48 months. Doing this really helps build your credit. Just buy something dependable.

8k got me a  beautifully maintained Civic a year and a half ago.  Three oil changes is the entire maintenance bill thus far.

Years ago, I had a 1982 Mercury Capri, and paid off on a loan. Was out in1986 looking for a car. Came across a year old Ford Mustang Gt. I really liked it, but interest rates were high back then, like 9%. After the agreement for the vehicle was final. The interest rate was 23% for me. I asked it they could hold the vehicle for 2'days. I went to my Credit Union and it came in like 14%. Banks were paying 8% on your money in Banks.

The worst issue I’ve ever had with a car dealer was an Acura dealer in Houston.  Put a $500 deposit down with Acura corporate to get the new Integra as it was coming off the line.  A-Spec,  technology package, 6 speed, was my wife’s then dream car.  That $500 was supposed to be deducted from the total amount financed- and then they tried to nickel and dime for addons.  Was told in finance they couldn’t verify with Acura I’d paid the deposit (even though I showed the email) because it was Saturday.  Went round and round for weeks and never got a solution.  

Next thing you know we get it home and their nickel and dime door protection film is coming off.  Take it back in?  They just cut it off where it was loose instead of replacing it, and said it was fixed.  I bought that car for my wife as her graduation present for getting her MBA.  Only financed $13k of it for 48 months at 3.9%.  Salesman wasn’t so happy he got a negative review after all of that.  But I’ll say this, he’s the only representative I had at that dealership.  So while I know it wasn’t him?  It was blamed on him… ironically he still works there.

Paid it off and traded it in a year ago on an RDX A-Spec - at a different Acura dealer and have had nothing but a positive experience there.

My first car was a 1974 Superbeetle, purchased in 1982.   It was a great car as long as the temperature didn't drop below freezing.  Then it wouldn't start.  I had to get a heater connected to the engine and keep it plugged in at night.  Then the gas gauge failed and I ran out of gas in the middle of the street.  What a piece of crap.

The guy with the Range, he has to go pick it up at the DMV the bank wont tell you. I did a refinance for a lady and she waited the 60 days they told her, then once we called my back office for support they told me NY state law, title has to be picked up at the DMV. CT might be the same
