On January 22nd and 23rd, 2025, I went to Akadake Onsen to make my snowy mountain tent debut.
It was my first time camping in a tent on a snowy mountain (although it is within the Akadake Onsen grounds), and although I took more precautions than necessary to protect myself from the cold, I decided to camp at Akadake Onsen just in case.
I wondered if I would be able to evacuate to a monk's hut in case of an emergency.
On the second day, I climbed Mt. Io in the dead of winter for the first time in a little over a year.
