If you keep guppies yourself, I’d also love to know — what’s the biggest challenge you’ve had with them?

i really like how gently you put that not every baby can be saved... it honestly sent me to instant subscribe!! Us humanizing our animals is simultaneously the best and worst thing about creature keeping haha

Great advice.  I had a female that had a deformed back so I separated her from the main tank.  She was already pregnant so she had 3 successive broods but made sure her babies were put into a separate tank so the genetics were not passed on. They are in tank where their progeny are eaten at birth but other fish. None fish have shown the defects but I don't Want to take that chance.

My guppies are hanging out at the top of my tank. I may have new tank syndrome, as it's a newer tank... it's not too hot , there's a massive air stone, I've tested nitrates and nitrites and ammonia - all good. All my other fish (yoyo loach, algae eater, neon tetras) are fine...

I am new to fishkeeping and am planning to get some guppies for a 64l tank, this video has been so helpful to getting some insights. I think that this was very well presented and made, and will definitely be using your channel again. Great to know all of this stuff, thanks!

I live in Australia and source my guppy from a near by river , great fish to keep

Thank you for explaining temperature ranges! Super helpful and informative.

Find a store that makes its own food. Its actually less expensive than the big box stores and much more rich in protein and vitamins. When the owner has to keep fish alive to thrive you will get better food, fish and advice. Flakes are mostly nothing and dissolve fast, both ruin water quality. Get real plants and don't skimp on bottom feeders if you are not trying to change water constantly. I grabbed a bunch of stuff off the lake, free, Sanitize or quarantine the plants first, cycle the aquarium, put just a couple cheap fish in to make sure the aquarium will support life... Especially before you put fish you really like in the tank. Pay close attention to skinny fish, dead fish, wobbly fish and spots or rips on the fins when buying. Some places don't know what they are doing. Some don't care as long as the sales are alright. You don't want to bring that into an aquarium and kill off everything else, rescuing fish is hard and fairly expensive.

Great advice—even for fish keeping in general! Thank you! Looking forward to setting up my first aquascape within the next week or so

Another super video Richard. Endlers just gave me about 30-40 more fry this past weekend. started new tank to move some fish around, but they will all be happy with lots more room coming. Left Females with the Cherry Shrimp ( added male to this tank with 3 females ). they will stay here due to Planaria in tank. The male will be removed as I'm sure they are all pregnant at this time.

I found your xhannel today.. And subscribed.. Alhamdulillah❤

i love how you explain in a very simple and enthusiastic way, a new subscriber here :)

Love the videos, please keep them coming!

Bought 6 guppies for a fairly large tank 7 years ago. Numbers at any one time now average around 50 from that original 6. Population kinda looks after itself but on the odd occasion it looks like getting too full then friends and family get free fish.

Perfect advice from a pro
