Comedian Leanne Morgan: From Housewife to Fame at 57!

Fame! That mystical quality that often leads young stars to crushing downfalls, addiction, financial ruin, even personal tragedy. So, is it better to become famous later in life, when you hopefully have the wisdom and experience to handle it?

For one Tennessee housewife and in-home jewelry salesperson Leanne Morgan, success didn’t happen till her late 50s. That’s when her incredible talent, perseverance and whit enabled her to go from playing small comedy clubs, to arenas, landing a Netflix special, and getting the part of Reese Witherspoon’s big sister in her upcoming comedy with Will Ferrell!

When Peter saw Leanne perform, it evoked memories of comedic timing reminiscent of Joan Rivers. When Jason caught her stand-up act, he immediately fell in love. And apparently, he’s not the only one. Her first YouTube comedy special reached - over 50 million views! Really, no Really!

Why i like about Leanne Morgan is that she is funny without being sexually explicit or using foul language.

Can you imagine a film with Leanne and Jennifer Coolidge as sisters who've spent their adult lives far from each other who have to reunite for their mom or dad's funeral & become embroiled in some kind of mystery or whodunnit they have to solve?!?!? It would be comic GOLD!!!!

She is not Hollywood and that is why we all love her😍

Leanne and Nate Bargatze, both Tennesseans, both clean comedians, have taken stand-up by storm!

I was in the middle of chemotherapy for Inflammatory Breast Cancer when I saw her at a MD Anderson survivor conference in 2007 or 2008. I laughed so hard. She was THE best medicine for everyone in the room.

Love you Leanne. You are proof that comedy doesn’t have to be filthy ❤

She is one of our Tennessee treasures. She is proud to be a southern woman, mom and grandma. Leanne…you make Appalachia proud.

She is a National Treasure. When she makes fun of herself she is allowing us to silently make fun of ourselves. It is the best therapy ever. Thank you Leanne.

Leanne, I saw you in Pittsburgh last month. Since my husband died in Feb 2022 of the COVID , who was a big fan, I haven't had any fun or laughed much. But I nearly "pulled a Carmen" in the arena at Pittsburgh. It was so much fun. And I laughed again because of you!

She is so real. She is the only person I have heard who can make plantar fasciitis funny. Thanks for this!

I agree with Robert . She is funny without being vulgar. She lets you fill in the blanks. And she is real. You go, Leeanne!😅
