This is a very enjoyable story without obvious errors in historical info. It was a bit different than many of these ai tales.

Despicable. Her aunt hijacked the Duke’s proposal and lied in public. If he ever had any doubt, he should know now that Lavinia is not the right woman.

Good story, but I am quite tired of the habit of people in these stories to lie in order to make life decisions for others. She should have told the Duke the truth and let him decide what to do.

Please change the characters' names! Get creative. Too many Claras and Eleanors, etc. I love the stories where the women do something besides audit ledgers.
