I was fortunate to be at this game. It was a perfect day for football.
I spoke with Tennessee's athletic director before the game and jokingly told him I hoped he had ordered more goal post because the fans were going to tear down the existing ones. He laughed and assured me that he had indeed done that. What a great day for Volunteer football.

I was there for this with my older brother.  We were both just young teenagers. Such a memorable day!!

it was at this game that i became an American

I was at this game, was so huge to beat #1 Auburn, and I loved that series and it's a shame we no longer play every year

At end of season TN was best team in the country that yr.

T Rob in this days offense would have been a legend

I was nine years old. I watched on TV.

80s all colors getting along and being respectful. Now it’s 2026 and all the media says is what a racist country we are. The media and government divided us. I miss the old days

Love the over sized should pads and the padded neck rolls.

Defense won the day. All the respect in the world for Bo Jackson, but they just beat him up that day. GBO

Auburn #1 in the nation down 24-0 in the 3rd quarter, Pat Dye to Bo Jackson "do you want to go back in there?" Bo just shrugs his shoulders and stays out of the game..... Wow....  I think The Vols defense took Bo's heart and desire away from him...

Is that Frank Broyles I hear back there with Keith Jackson?

What a day! I was 9 years old and remember like yesterday! Bo took himself out of the game. We lit him up

I am not a vols fan, I like them just fine, but not full fan. That being said, I do love their stadium!

I'm an Auburn fan. Watched this game at ft campbell

Tony Robinson

I was there that day. BO JACKSON  was the best running back in college ball. Tennessee punished him lol some plays tackling him 5 yards out of bounds. 2nd half  coach Dye says Bo get in there LOL Jackdon says this  f you they are trying to kill me. Tennessee beat auburn that day.

I played softball against Robinson wen he went 2 brushy mountain prison petros  tn

it's funny how they said  an auburn def.lineman was 6 ft 5 inches and 270. "he's a big un. he'd be a linebacker these days

12 mins left and then 38 pts scored.  What!
