I didn't know tom macdonald released 10 albums this year, good for him

Predicting uzi’s cover of chop suey to be both of their best songs of the year

Graydon is the* MF from that "I Think You Should Leave" sketch that threw all of the obscure jazz artist references into the charades game

My favorite album this year was dignans family photo album from their trip to Disney world. Specifically the Epcot part of the trip was insane

Take a shot every time Riley says “[genre] revival”

Graydon’s list is so based so far!! I’m only on number 3, I think number 2 is gonna be amazing!

I know this will get lost in the middle of all the comments, but i really want to thank the boys for helping me through a difficult phase of my life. I started watching hivemind early 23 and its my favourite youtube channel by a wide margin, i love the community, i love the videos and y'all have such a good impact on your viewers (at least on me). i discovered new music from your videos throughout the year, which helped me a lot to pass by that phase. Thank you both (and everyone involved) for being such a great and positive influence on my 2023.

the fact that I'm a fan of these men and yet I sit here with zero clue of what the hell either of them are talking about...love my music freaks! <3

the album that really stuck with me this year was Space Heavy by King Krule. 2023 was the year I fell in love with his sound and Space Heavy got me into it

i think a "what are we listening to" segment could be really cool for this channel

love the stop motion, guys! didn’t know ya’ll had the budget to pull it off but it looks great, riley and graydon almost look real!

To this day it genuinely amazes how Riley and I can be completely on the same page about some albums, and we couldn’t be further apart for others. Gotta love music

The Kara Jackson album from this year definitely deserves a listen. Also, McKinley Dixon, DJ Sabrina's Destiny, and Javelin is the biggest unmentioned.

hozier's album 'unreal unearth' blew everything else out of the water for me. so beautiful, so flawlessly written. i urge anyone who hasn't checked it out to listen - once for how gorgeous it sounds, and again for the lyricism. It's based around dante's inferno and the rings of hell, and somehow makes it palatable and relatable to everyone. looking into the lyrics and their references only adds a deeper layer of genius to the work, but it's not necessary to appreciate the beauty of the album. okay back to jokes. haha dignan's album with his collection of rotating characters was so inspiring and deep. so many sounds one couldnt imagine working on an album. and they dont.

My top 5 albums:

my favorite jazzrambler on the internet is at it again

My favorite album of the year was Hozier's Unreal Unearth. It genuinely made me feel more feeling than almost anything else has this years so that's why it's my #1
