I have just received my copy and pencils a few hours ago and I agree with you on judging the quality of pencils.  One really should use the pencils as you intend to use them... colouring at least a section on a colouring page, before a true verdict about them can be reached.  So far I have swatched these pencils out into my swatch diary but i am already happy that they are a quality product.  I look forward to testing them 'in the field' in the book tomorrow.  The book is lovely!  I think a great example of Johanna's best work.

Had this set for three year and love them so much ❤

Hope to see another video from you soon. The keyhole one looks good.

I preordered this book and i can't wait till October 10

My first set of pencils were Staedtlers...slightly "better than Noris Club.but nowhere near as good as these appear to be. I was bitterly disappointed. As you mentioned, Staedtler's other stationery products are very good quality. A colleague's young son was happy to have them! However, with your talent, pretty much any pencil would give you a better result than most of us will ever achieve!!!

Congrats, lucky you. Happy coloring

what a lovely book, so different from her previous works. Adorable! I already pre-order at BookDepository 💜

I wish I were a famous colorist to get noticed and received at least one sample from one of the many artists I have colored their pages on different books...but after some time I have accepted that will not happen. My YouTube channel is sooo small (it is only a year old), and my Facebook page is so unnoticed that I will have to wait until I manage to save some money to buy it here in Mexico. I live in Mexico City, and even though I was not affected by the horrible earthquakes, I had been donating food and money to help the ones who lost everything. I am a teacher and in Mexico we are not paid well enough to get everything you wish to buy...that's life.

I love your tips and coloring. I think you handle pencils in one of the best ways I have ever seen on YouTube. thanks for your videos!

Hello, I'm a new subscriber.  I love johanna basfords coloring books. I'm waiting for my steadtler ergosoft pencils to arrive. I am agreeable with you on getting to know a set of pencils before passing on my opinion about them.

I can't see any difference in pencils you use because regardless of what you use, the end result is still gorgeous. I love the book, I have it pre-ordered and can't wait to receive it. I'm with you on the pencils, in that I'm partial to my artist grade ones but for people who can't afford those, a review of ergosoft would be useful. Please show us videos of your colouring in this book, whatever the pencil. Thank you.

I have around 1470 coloured pencils of all sorts from the most exoensive to some cheap ones like Staedtler ergo soft and to be honest I quite like them !Needless to say, the ergo soft are no where near the Holbein, Faber etc, BUT are very usable.Kind regards from the UK.

Wonderful coloring as always! How did you ended up feeling about the Lyras? I'm thinking about buying a set!

I have these 24 and love them. But now I want a bigger Staedler set!! Any suggestions?

Did you know Marco Raffine? Would you say theyre the same in quality?

I really like the Ergosoft pencils. Despite having FB Polys, Derwent Colorsoft and Irotijen, I bought the 36 set of these, which is the biggest set.

I think they do better with a bit more pressure however.  They give up their colour well with a bit of pressure, and they blend well in that instance too. Perhaps because they are originally designed for young school children.

The Norris Club are terrible things.  I received a few free in art supplies orders.  Rock hard and colourless. I wouldn't even give those to children. It would put them off colouring.

That was an awesome review your the gray car unless there is you did your best I really enjoyed everything you put in this video but this video is way too short

What type of sharpener do you use for these? Tks Cat F.

How can you find this color book

Are the pencils oil or wax?  Not a lot of pertinent info.
