Eleonora d'Arborea (14th century): A documentary about the Giudicessa of Arborea and the medieval Sardinia of the four Giudicati.

Eleonora grew up in Molins de Rei, Catalonia, and married the Genoese Brancaleone Doria for reasons of state. In 1383, after the assassination of her brother Ugone and with her husband held prisoner by the Aragonese, she assumed the regency of the Giudicato of Arborea and led it for approximately twenty years, waging wars and negotiating treaties with the Crown of Aragon. In 1392, she promulgated the Carta de Logu, a 198-article code that remained in force in Sardinia until 1827 and was registered in the UNESCO Memory of the World Register in 2007.

How this video was created: The text is original, written and directed by the editorial staff, drawing on relevant sources on the subject. The narrative voice is synthetic, and the images are reconstructions generated using Artificial Intelligence tools, one per paragraph, linked to the sentence the narrator is speaking. The image selection, chapter titles, and editing are all hand-curated. This channel was created and directed by Giovanni Lo Leggio.
