In this Life Together Digest, the Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison, president of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), offers greetings at the start of the new school year and new triennium. He reflects on the work of the LCMS convention this summer, including votes supporting residential seminary education, strong education of church workers and Set Apart to Serve. Harrison also offers details about his visit to the Inaugural Assembly of Lutheran Mission–Australia (LM–A) in August, where the LCMS and LM–A entered full altar and pulpit fellowship: “It was very emotional: Here’s a church of the old Missouri side of the church that we hadn’t been in fellowship with for 60 years. What a blessing. What joy. Challenges, but joy.”
