Thank you Steve…I appreciate the kind words about our Grandson Eli and it will be good to see you at Blue Collar Drags! I had a girlfriend once that had one of those cars with the same exact engine. Cool old Wagon!

Wagons are the best, an entire generation of Children were made in them

That interior alone makes this Hornet worth saving. You just don't see cars like this anymore! :eyes-pink-heart-shape:

I'm a retired firefighter paramedic, I have seen the horror of losing a child. I nearly lost my son to viral incephalitis . He 27 and strong. He loves your channel as well.

My great aunt and grandmother both rocked AMC Eagles all through the eighties and nineties, Grammy's was a wagon and it had the same body as this thing. Thanks for triggering good memories man.

Fun fact: the crank from this 258 combined with a 4.0 Jeep block and rods nets you a stroker somewhere in the neighborhood of 4.6-4.7L. Not a total bolt in swap if you use the modern EFI head, but dang close to a drop in for 70-80 additional horsepower

Fly High Eli!!! ❤

Great work. My high school English teacher had the green version of this wagon, average AMC in Wisconsin.... the top of the fenders no longer existed.
Forgot to say, AMC: The Kenosha Cadillac!

Always like those AMC's had a gremlin when I was 17 . Love how you get so excited when things you assume won't work work like lights 😂 great video as always

Steve, I enjoy your collaboration videos, but you don't need to punish yourself away from home to be entertaining. I love this video and you got to be home for it.

Another cracking video sir. I always appreciate the extra effort you make in your videos being only 1 person with no camera operator. Those extra shots make all the difference.

These were durable, reliable cars. Nice buy.

Brother!! I just bought a 73 Hornet sedan and this video has been SO informative. I bought it with next to no mechanical knowledge and have been documenting my learning journey. Working up to doing the head gasket in a couple weeks so we'll see how that goes...
