Harley is over 100 pounds of Rottweiler confidence...until something feels unfamiliar. š
Sheās afraid of boxes, tight spaces, shadows, and apparently the dining room.
Today, her ball rolled into a room she has refused to walk into for years.
Normally, I get it for her.
Today, I didnāt.
I stayed close. I encouraged her. I told her she could do it.
And eventually...she did.
Watching Harley take that little step made me think about how often we do the same thing with people we love.
We see someone struggling, scared, uncomfortable, or unsure, and our instinct is to fix it for them.
Sometimes that is exactly what love requires.
But sometimes love looks different.
Sometimes it means staying close without rescuing.
Encouraging without taking over.
Believing someone is capable before they believe it themselves.
Maybe support doesnāt always mean fixing.
Maybe sometimes it sounds like:
āIām right here. You can do this. And Iām not going anywhere.ā
And yes, Harley backed all the way back out of the dining room after getting her ball. š
Confidence has limits.
But she went in.
And I think that counts for something.
ā Thank you for having coffee with me.
Choose Love. Move with Courage,
Luciana
