Just a quick comment, I guess in defence of the issue I had. A few years back I had a Himi 411 pack up in that same place on a video and I did have to have that bike collected. Turned out to be the relays (back before we knew they had a relay problem), so with this 390, just being the battery, I think we have to give the bike some leniency. I'll kick a new battery into both bikes and let's move forward and reassess from there.

KTM doing KTM things 😮

I feel you frustration. So many times I've thought about buying a KTM then get put off.

As the prowed own of a scram 411, no matter how many bike reviews I watch I  haven't watched  one that has has persuaded me that they offer more smiles for miles. Both  the Himalayan and scram 411's can do it all and are more than adequate for many trying their hand at some green lanes. Cheep to buy, cheep to  service and cheep to repaire if needed, just bloody good bikes. Mountains high, Valleys deep there is no stopping the mighty 411 ❤

It seems to me that the bike having 3 owners over 900 miles in the first year, and a sale price of £5.8k with all the extras is indicative that it's had that same issue existing for a while (especially with the missing cover and strap).

I've had all the pros you mentioned in the video and none of the cons from my 390 Adv R.

The cruise control makes motorway travel so much easier and more comfortable. The bike is light, manoeuvrable, fun and capable off road (maybe not on extreme trails) and really fun on fast twisties too.

Any bike that has to combine on road and off road riding will need compromises, but at £6.2k brand new I personally think these bikes are absolutely fantastic!

Best reviewer in the business!

Could feel your understandable frustration after the non start. I wanted to buy the KTM 390 but reliability had to be the top buying reason for me so I got the CRF300l which suits me just fine. I have disability (can't walk great distance) but at 70 years can easily get the Honda back up off the ground. Great little bike. Thanks to your videos I was able to make a decision that suits me and got the right bike for me. We do listen to your words of wisdom. Thanks.

so.... if Honda (the greatest organisation on planet earth 😝) put adjustable suspension on a crf and give it 20 bhp with cruise control and traction control you can flick on/ off on the fly, we basically have a unicorn id say. they could also have the start up screen saying "reliable as fuck"  good video, i realy enjoyed it.

I’ll stick with my CRF. That KTM was so tempting until it wasn’t anymore.

A nice motorbike with a bad connection.

you were being so positive in the review, it was obvious it was going to go bad

I think you summed it up perfectly when you compared the prices
You said " what do people want "
That is the problem Nathan
New bikes come along and people rush out to buy and then something else comes along behind it, and they then ditch the previous bike
The unicorn will never be found
Buy it, stick with it, and ride it.

Another excellent review.Great job Nathan. Bike seems very capable. Certainly looks the part, but reliability is essential, especially when riding solo in the Bush, woods or anywhere. I'll go with your first choice.  Till something better comes along. Thanks again for your hard work. It's much appreciated. Have a great day, brother.

Fantastic vid Nathan and just like real life shit happens and you have to deal with it, and with that you get genuine emotions of having to deal with, no set up jeopardy of some channels
keep up the good work 👍

Voge just sniggering in the background at the more expense offfers.😂

I am 66 and happy I bought that bike. No issues for me!

Another great, honest video Nathan. Keep it up buddy. 👍

You must have meant business Nathan no gardening gloves today 😘
Blooming shame it played up.

Another great video!

Another great video, with the usual cocktail of honesty, common sense and comedy - thanks. Yes, key word that ..... 'reliability'. I've had many KTM's and when they're on song, they're hard to beat, exhilarating, but when going to start them and when riding, I'm always asking the same questions to myself in my head .... 'is it going to start?' and 'will it get me there'. With 'Adventure' in its name, that's not a good optic. My fifty-odd years of riding has provided a lot of lessons, none more important than these five ........ H-O-N-D-A !!I I'll stick with my low powered, softy suspension 300 Rally thanks.
