My sister and I got the DS lite when it came out as a consolation prize for my dad getting diagnosed with cancer, because we had to make a 7 hour car ride round trip every single weekend for treatment, and what’s the best way to keep a 7 and 8 year old quiet and calm in the car and hospital waiting room? The DS worked like a damn charm!!!I have SO many fond memories playing it in waiting rooms and cars and even while my dad got chemo, sitting in the reclining chair with him! Like kinda a messed reason, and we would later get the Wii as a cancer remission surprise gift from my dad to play with us at home, but damn did it make a terrible situation a little bit better

You said I could pick the movie for the sleepover!

Alright boys time to fall asleep again, sleep tight

I talked to God and they did confirm that the Nintendo DS is their favorite console

wheres the sega gamegear compilation

I just bought a DS lite, ready to relive one of the best eras

I worked at a used game store when the original ds launched. I had coworkers who argued "if it was a successor to GBA then it would have backwards compatibility with all GB games."  but these were the same people that sold their ps2 for a psp so...

Are we gonna tell him 2 hours and 30 minutes of content is not a snippet

I am still playing my DS, even more than my Switch. This was easily the best portable console ever.

I remember playing so much Mario kart ds that even after the top screen stopped working I would play just looking at the map

god, seeing that first starter kit unlocked the dustiest part of my brain

27:04 they really made “mewing the game”

Ah yes, a compilation about touching being good 😁👌

I freaking love the original ds design. People talk about how great the other models are with their screens, but they had one drawback. Even at max brightness, you couldn't play them outside in broad daylight but you could definitely do that with the og ds due to how they made the screen. That design that allows for playing in sunlight and in dim areas made it the best. Also, gba games were flush and not sticking out..and fps games? Genius. The stylus playstyle made sense and the way you held the ds made sense. At least to me. It wasn't uncomfortable and very fun to play prime hunters and cod.

I’ve already said this on another video about the DS, but I cannot get over the fact that this system launched when I was in Kindergarten! The DS was an enigma that evaded everyone I knew until 5th grade

Got my DS Lite in 2010 when I was 4, still playing it on the bus to university lol

9:40 that’s all bro could say about flipnote? It wasn’t just some little tool. It was freakin revolutionary for the time.. just hopping on there and seeing the hilarious memes ppl were creating and some genuinely amazing fights / skits that ppl would create is a core memory from my 11 year old self

I get anxious anytime I see that chef's hat. Especially when there's only a couple of months left in 2026. 😨

This is my favorite video to put my Bluetooth phones on and sleep with Scott's beautiful voice

I bought a DSi off ebay and instead of the charger they gave me an octopus cable with all those different plugs.  VERY handy
