Careful with updating those PS4's. If any of them are on older firmware people will pay extra for that. Jailbreak stuff.

The xbox HDD might have a corrupted partion table. Worth doing a full wipe via PC (write all zeros at least once), make sure nothing bad pops up in SMART, then test again in the xbox. Disk might still be good.

@RVNR2022 4 months ago

the seller of that button surely made that job harder. there are exact actual button replacements on ali. be sure to have some and bin those you got

@thewavyshopofficial 4 months ago

A quick suggestion for PS4s if you ever need to reinstall the firmware, do not update it to the latest firmware version. Just update to the earliest you can. The PlayStation will tell you as that way you can get a bit more profit as PlayStations on lower firmware typically sell for a bit more

With the Xbox one s, I think it’s the video encoder chip, talking from experience repairing those, if the video encoder (IC) is faulty the console is stuck in 4K. It will do that sometimes.

@sonicrocks2 4 months ago

You might want to check your micro USB cable. Sometimes they only have 5V and ground for charging but not the data lines, which you would need for the controller to talk to the console. Could be wrong though, it looks like it worked on that Xbox...

A raffle that is OK with sending to US, Canada and Australia from UK, but not to EU? Apparently not a delivery fee issue, are there legal things going on that prevent that? Anyways, keep up the nice work!

Hey Joey awesome video! To test that ps4 at the start you could’ve used a disc to turn the console on

The "Fat" PS4 model comes in several versions. The main versions are SAA-001, SAB-001, and SAC-001; each of these includes minor sub-versions that were not always publicly documented. Furthermore, even within a specific sub-version, variations may exist due to differences in component suppliers or design optimizations. The SAA model is the PS4 version featuring a daughterboard attached to the optical drive. The SAB model also utilizes daughterboards, but of a different revision. The SAC model, however, lacks a daughterboard; in this version, the Renesas chip is integrated directly onto the motherboard, allowing the optical drive to be swapped out without any issues. Many SAA and SAB consoles ended up in the trash prematurely because the daughterboard had failed, even though the motherboard itself remained in perfect working order. If I recall correctly, this specific cover component is present only on the SAC version.

It would have been interesting to start the new series with a fresh pair of gloves to see how long they would last. And let sally know how much they cost. = )

@TheCroupier74 4 months ago

Bro you should have started it with any old optical disc.

Am binge watching your S2 fix-athon as I find them fun. I do love your enthusiasm. My one comment is your costs are not really what anyone else would find, as you always ignore the cost of using your extensive parts stock. Someone doing this as a starting hobby or even beginning a business would have to go buy one or more donor boards to fix each item needing parts (or buy new parts where possible). I really think you should factor such a cost into the new S3 to be more fair to viewers. Keep up the great work.

I realized how invested I was into that damn XBox when you got no display and I felt my heart drop 😭

"it looks the way it does because of how it is" 🤣

@keithsmith7031 4 months ago

Great job Joey, i was nearly screaming at my PC telling you to put a disk in the PS4 drive 🤣. Works every time with broken power button. Have same issue with mine here and been using it that way for years. Great overall work on both consoles, keep it up

It is meant to be "dry" because it is phase change material which is "dry" at room temperature but melts when it heats up.

Since this is only the second episode, please, I implore you, to add a simple graph of profits/losses from episode to episode from the very beginning (it's okay to have a line with actual and expected profits on one graph). Please, this is very important for us, people who are more comfortable with visuals than with a mass of numbers in a table. Please, Joey, don't leave us with this table, which means practically nothing to us, for many episodes.
Leave a like so Joey can see how many of us there are!
