Gosh, I've got slide photos from the 1970's when the 'museum' then was an assembled group of engines and random stuff outdoors. I didn't realise it had grown into the great looking museum now. I must visit.  Thanks for the video.

Very interesting, and that's from a non-steam person, well presented and very professional.:washhands:

Awesome. Thanks for sharing.

Very well put together Video! Would love to visit the Museum but I do not know when that will happen.

Such a well presented museum; makes the Thirlmere  museum look a bit ordinary.

That looks fantastic.  I am going to have to check it out.

861 a locomotive with a vr 5 chime

3:27 both G classes where built at newport

Me and the mrs just did this trip on the 16th!! Awesome place to be.

Can I please ask, what Camera/Gear do you use to vlog?

Great video but the one essential bit of information missing is when is the museum open?

The museum has been completely rebuilt since Mt Lyell  rack engine and van returned to Tasmania. Many of the other original exhibits such as Justin Hancock W22, Poziers and APC garratt have gone to other railways to perhaps return to service. Instead of being an open air museum with some covering, a large portion of it is now inside a purpose built building including the stationary steam plant (which is still in the same location).

861 is a modified version of 'Carbon' the yellow engine shown at 1:27. It was modified by a Victorian Railways driver.

If I'm not being mistaken, almost every locomotive in the railway museum pretty much operational (i think?)
