I'm learning english, I'm from México, and even of this video is for homeschooling parents,  but for me, who I want todo read properly,  is just a truly gem , thank God 🙏

I must admit that I got some  sound advice from Akeba .
I especially love the video when she told her kids to speak like Dory🐠 .After watching that  video I changed my approach in teaching my kids to read, and now they're fluent readers .

I saw your home schooling video. Studies show that home schooled children do better all around, regardless of parents education, income, etc. As long as they're using a structured cirriculum. We chose to not send our children to public schools. Our children have a teacher and the cirriculum is very advanced. It's not about control or anything like that! I work full time and so does my husband and we just feel like this is what's best for our family. Our kids are excited and love home school. My husband and I both had a horrible experience with public school, even though I was in gifted programs.

I deliberately waited until I was certain my 4 year old was ready to read and have been searching for the most effective method to teach her.  I'm so happy you are doing this, thank you.  I will be following along and will let you know how it goes.

This was my field in the public school that I worked at.  So sad that they took the money from that program and threw that part of teaching out like they did with Civics and trying to do with most of  History.
I never stopped using Phonemic Awareness bcz I still tutor.  I am so happy that you are sharing this aspect of reading online; children and adults need this.  There are so many adults who cannot break down words, nor pronounce them correctly.  If we continue to educate our young ones, they will be able to help others.

Your video about the Baltimore School has gone viral, which I just finished watching.  With the edicts sent out about DIVERSITY, perhaps the inner city school should mandate DIVERSITY IN THEIR TEACHING STAFF.  There are so many of us who were forced to retire, would gladly help where help is needed.  All classrooms should be mandated to have two teachers in it at all times.
You are on the money, telling society that LEARNING BEGINS IN THE HOME.  My children went to Howard County Schools and one year in the Bowie, MD schools, where my son was finally diagnosed with a Learning Disability.  He was put into programs which did little or nothing to help him learn to read, so throwing money at the problem is NOT the answer.  Keep on doing what you do, but you are sorely needed in the education system!

Thank you so much for doing this! Thus has helped me really realize that I can homeschool my kids. I only have an 8 month old right now but it's something I've really been thinking about. I've always had a hard time reading out loud and spelling. And my husband is always saying our poor kids because I say things wrong or can't at all. But with watching this video it has given me the encouragement to know that I can learn how to teach them. Thank you do much!

For those that might be wondering I say things wrong. I grew up with my mother who's from Colorado ( no distinct accent)and my father who's from El Salvador ( spanish accent), growing up in Kansas, ( which is Midwestern accent) Texas, ( southern accent)and Oklahoma.( southern and Midwestern accent mixed) So I say things weirdly all the time. I've never been tested but I think I have verbal dyslexia as well. One of my older brothers had a teacher in highschool who studied accents in America say that they've never heard one like his.
