I cant wait for Baby Sherlock Holmes, when he solves crimes on the playground

Can't believe this guy grows up to be Henry Cavil and go on adventures with his sister, Eleven

with every Sherlock adaptation that gets made, Sherlock becomes more and more abstract and folkhero-ifyed. i'd call it flanderization but the vast majority of these adaptations actually seem to play up his positive attributes to mythical levels and rid him of all of his flaws, making it feel less like normal exaggeration and more like he's becoming some kind of legend that gets grander with every telling at the cost of his actual character

The key problem with Sherlock Holmes adaptations is they keep trying to make him into a genius in general when he’s actually a genius DETECTIVE(keyword)

The original Sherlock Holmes didn't even know about the heliocentric model because he specifically only bothered to remember information that was useful to him as a detective. Memorizing an entire math textbook for no reason is precisely the kind of thing he wouldn't do, because he would have considered that an inexcusable waste of his mental faculties.

"The horse is played by Awkwafina" that one got me 😂

Donal Finn as Moriarty steals the show .

Dude it’s the way that I made sure to pause for each joke explanation. It’s like getting a deluxe version of an album. Ty Alex.

This is just 18 minutes of Alex trying not to get cancelled

Every sherlock adaptation looks like it's the result of a game of broken telephone between a bunch of people who have never read sherlock but vaguely remember someone talking about it at some point

So this is essentially Young Sheldon but in Victorian England? It doesn't seem to have anything in common with the Sherlock Holmes character from the books. He isn't a nerd, he's simply very observant

The joke explanation cards are both incredibly funny and sad at the same time…

The joke explanation is funnier than it should be :_shock:

The fact that Alex is so passive agressive with his annotations is awesome.

to be honest Dònal Finn is the only person the could play James Moriarty this way, i love it

the explanations for the joke is indeed very funny

Ah yes, the "jerk genius" genre. The same genre that brought us Dr House, Rick Sanchez, and the previous TV version of Sherlock Homes. The fantasy being catered to is: "I am, by far, the smartest person in the room. That makes me indispensable. That means you have no choice but to sit there and take my abuse. "

I'm sorry, but the explanation of the joke to placate those that do not understand how humor works, is in fact, INFINITELY more funny than the actual joke themselves! That shit has me DYING!!! 🤣

Dónal Finn out here doing the most
