I like how Dragons and Loch Ness monsters are marked as a higher possibility of being real than a large species of worm.

"Squonk is a weird and ugly looking cryptid"

Squonk: 😔

“Ok i’m in the final layer where only the most obscure, disturbing and mysterious mythical creatures reside”
The final layer: Sasquatch but fashionable

On the subject of Dwarves, I have visited a medieval German mine (I believe it was iron), and the tunnels are quite small. The friend I was staying with while I was there, who was my guide to major landmarks around Dresden, held the opinion that maybe dwarves come from a very practical tradition of miners being smaller men, they they didn't have to dig out bigger tunnels. This association may also explain why Dwarves are reputed to live underground, and are associated with mining.

I like how there's a separate entry for Sasquatch but with drip.

"The killer cactus has never killed anyone."
We've officially found the plant version of the giant murder hornet that can't murder people.

the siren head is literally just a drawing from Trever Henderson. the fact that people still think its a real thing even though the guy is popular confuses me.

40:05 Not only is siren head in this cryptid list, but its image is from a Fallout 4 mod XD
Side note, the sheep squatch image at 40:39 is also from a fallout game but this time, officially added! It's one of the "cryptid" monsters you can find in Fallout 76, including the Mothman and The Flatwoods Monster

"it is believed that gargoyles are living statues and demonic vessels."
Gargoyles, who were actually made to ward off evil spirits: "now wait just a second-"

"trolls can be harmful to humans."

shoutout to the giant shrimp in the laundry room for having the least original but still the funniest name out of any cryptid

"grab a drink, presumably something strong"

me with a 3L jug of water: visibly shaking

siren head shouldve been a full black moon since he was made up by a canadian horror artist named trevor henderson

Someone should make an open world game with all these cryptids, and I mean like a massive open world, maybe set back in the 1700s-1800s, and let's you travel through the whole world as like a cryptid researcher letting you take notes (or collect notes) based on the cryptids you can find. I feel like that would have some great potential for a game..

Siren head is literally a piece of art by an insta artist

With unicorns, a popular idea explaining their origin is that they're a misinterpretation of a rhinoceros or of a horned antelope seen from the side or faraway, or one missing a horn. If you think about the original description of a unicorn as a horse with a short stringy mane, lion's tail, and cloven feet then both of those make sense when you look at those animals.

The only thing that could top this is Wendigoon doing a 12 part series on it... we should poke him to do that lol

biologist here with a fisheries management degree from Auburn University. Can confirm. Orange Alligators are real. And are caused when an alligator with albinism (which isn't as uncommon as you'd think)spends significant time in a river, pond, or lake that is stained with the red clay of south Alabama, south Georgia, and northwest Florida.
