The MEATIEST Analog Horror Series Of All Time - Vita Carnis

Mr. Cow

It's time to talk about meat for a very, very long time! Today we're talking about a certified classic in the world of Analog Horror: Vita Carnis.

UPDATE! Turns out you can't get Trimmings in this horrible Earth we live in, but I shaved a raccoOn and dipped it in lard and stawberry jam. I'm one step closer to having my Shadow Wolf.

The most terrifying thing about this series is how DOGSHIT that casserole looks. You serve that at the potluck and all the HOA moms are gonna rip you apart worse than any Elder Mimic ever could.

So your “meat snake” explosively “arrived” all over “the globe”

I feel like if the mimic dresses up like a human and tries to blend in by eating tacos and stuff like that it would instantly go “oh damn this is fire” and just live as a human

"What if monsters had a really silly weakness?" is half of SCP.

some scary stuff, then "Omg, this ugly racoon loves TV!", then some scary stufff, then "Omg this scary orb loves TV!"

One thing I love about the characterization of the singularities is that they seem incredibly smart and have otherworldly knowledge, but they don't have thisworldly knowledge. They are completely and utterly fascinated by human technology and such because it's still things that they don't know about

The image of the Trimming scaled next to the basketball and human triggers the Punt Instinct.

One thing he missed is when the Magister was talking about sieves, the mimics were being restrained by chain length fences but it had already been established that mimic could compress their bodies to fit through small gaps, and the elder human like mimic they caught disappeared from it's cage. I think they were explicitly telling us the mimics where lose in the facility (possibly replacing humans).

By far the best thing about this series is the practical effects

In the world where Vita Carnis is set you can unironically say "My Meat Snake has grown a significant amount ever since I started exposing it to dead rodents" and it DOESN'T sound weird.
Well, it still sounds weird, but at least it can be said at a dinner table without grandma choking on the casserole.

Between the Harvester attack, the Elder Mimic attack, and the injection scene, the audio/sound effects/design in this series are CRAZY, very underrated. Scenes are beyond haunting, will legit stick with me for years.

I love that everyone I’ve watched whom initially hates the trimmings always end up falling for them just in time to be horrified by scientists spraying cold water on them XD

I fell in love immediately because they just remind me too much of my pet turtle, Bill! She also squeaks and chirps when happy + eating, loooooves watching TV + listening to certain songs, requires soaking, and absolutely adores cuddling.

in Darian's words as for anyone wondering when the next installment of this series will be:

not for a long! FUCKING! TIME!

23:26 You're describing a sphynx cat, and I say that with all the love in my heart for sphynx cats

An elder mimic, Florida man and Australian hunter genuinely going blow for blow:

I remember that each one of the singularities and their personalities symbolises each one of the vita carnis beings. like each one has domain over them separately.

at the start, I can't help but feel like hiding in the closet is immediately ruined when you have your flashlight ON and pointed DIRECTLY AT THE DOOR HINGE

I am here for Mr. Cow’s not so gradual shift into horror content

I love the light tone and silly jokes throughout this, feels like I'm hanging out and casually discussing it with someone.

It is the barrere family. Remember, the father died when Victor was a teenager. Neither of the boys pictured in the harvester segment are in their teens, from the look of it.
